  • Somehow Worse than Elfen Lied
Brynhildr is an anime based on a manga written and drawn by the same guy who did Elfen Lied. The Elfen Lied manga was a lot like the anime though the anime tied things up at the halfway point of the manga. This led to a huge problem because the anime ended very early without explaining anything but the manga continued and made a little more sense after the anime’s cut-off point (though went crazy ...

  • Bad ending for a good manga
It started out well, but the last arc (Valkyria) felt like they crammed a year-long story into 4 episodes. I haven't read the original manga, but I've been told the anime version left out a few very important arcs as well. They should have at least made 2 quarters out of it than just 1. Not recommended.

I took interest in this anime due to its connection to Elfen Lied -
    - and found it fairly interesting. The series was nothing jaw dropping or absolutely astounding, but it was very entertaining with its fair share of comedic scenes that took you away from the drama occasionally. As someone who highly enjoys battle and intense scenes, those seemed to be very well done. My only true complaint is that to someone who may not be familiar with a manga existing, the ...

  • Interesting but no back story...
So, I really enjoyed watching this anime but there was NO backstory about anyone's family or really anything else for that matter... Plus, you don't know how anything really happened at the end. There was so much unknown but if you just ignore that and just focus on the main story, you should be fine.
There is some perversion in it so you probably don't want to watch it around children. Just ...

  • Rushed but Tense, Beautiful Opening Images
Some "fan service" scenes could have been removed to avoid the rush toward the end, but the pace is still okay. It is tense, and the anime staff successfully create a reasonable ending. Having read the manga, I think the anime did a good job in showing the cruelty and hope as in the manga. However, to have an ending within this number of episodes, the insanity of some characters are brought to the ...

  • Complicated to the extreme
This show tore my emotions up, down, left, and right and then shoved them simultaneously down my throat and up my butt... That said the story was amazing, the drawing was amazing, and the plot was well thought out and well written. My only problem is that its left me wondering and wanting more.

  • Great piece of Science Fiction Drama
I really enjoyed this one. THe characters were interesting enough, THe plot was interesting and spooky and there was enough real emotional depth in this essentially harem style anime to keep it going. Another gem an adult can watch in a sea of stuff for 12 year olds.

  • The series (much like others) that had a good start with a ruined ending
Initially to the beginning of the series, the show sets up a good plot, interesting characters and a decent setting somewhat blending both sci-fi and supernatural elements well. The protagonist isn't some cliche guy who always fights for the damsel in distress rather he uses his intelligence to manoeuvre around tricky situations; which I quite like. Halfway in the story begins to feel more and ...

  • Dark, tragic and suspenseful... and AMAZING
So the story is rather dark, tragic, and to some extent gruesome (though very mildly as due to the censorship which i actually think for a change takes AWAY from the show). I mean it starts out with a little boy losing his friend in a way that he must blame himself for the rest of his life....
With out giving anything away to the best of my abilities; the show takes a boy who has a perfect ...

  • disappointed, tries to force the feels
I really wanted to like this and at times I did , but in the end this was a waste of my afternoon. I'll probably look into reading the manga since many seem to state that its actually pretty good. I dont recommend brynhildr unless its the only thing left to watch on your queue.
