  • ultimate fan service
Been a long time fan of CCS, this series is like a dream come true! The romance between Sakura & Syaoran is a such a fan service for long time supporters! Animation's an upgrade from the original series (as expected). Also it's beyond awesome that they've got the original cast back after almost 20 years! No disappointment whatsoever, just hope that they would continue this asap!

  • Sakura returns as clueless
Cardcaptor Sakura returns almost 20 years.

I am a huge fan of the series and all the characters even Meiling who only exists in the anime and not the manga.

I had somewhat hoped that the story would of been something new entirely and not just a repeat from story arc 1 (capture the cards) and story arc 2 (re-capture and change them). This arc is the two previous arcs combined essentially and ...

  • Can I get the next season now?
This revival brought back my inner 12 year old all over again. I like that I wasn't sure who the villain was until the very end and that we get to see these characters grow up a bit more. I definitely think the whole premise is interesting and not something I've seen too often (at least not in 90s/00s anime).

  • Delivers the classic Cardcaptor Sakura feel near flawlessly, but does not much deliver on new ideas.
Reviewed after watching the whole series.

Clear Card is intended for people who have seen the original series. It does not make much of an attempt to introduce new audiences and plops you right in the middle of the old cast, as if no time has passed. Aside from Kero's inadequate 30 second briefing at the very beginning, it does not even attempt to explain or summarize previous events. ...

  • Love it! Love it! Love it!
First off, if you want to be caught up please watch the old series and the two movies. The movies do play a part on this. I did rewatch most of the old series before this started but then realized I had to rewatch the movies too. Kero's summary at the start not enough but you can ignore my advice.

Now on to the review! I loved how Sakura has grown in her magic. She soo much confident in ...

  • Sakura is Developing into a Fine Mage
If you loved the old Cardcaptor Sakura shows, this one has the same formula for success. The characters are just as cute, the stories are just as heartwarming, and Sakura is still capturing cards. This time the cards are both similar to the old ones, and different. We have a few new and interesting members in the cast, as well as the old ones.

Years have passed, but Sakura and the gang look and ...

    Cardcaptor Sakura Opinion
ABSOLUTELY THRILLED THEY CAST THE SAME VOICE ACTORS!!!!!

My opinion: The first few episodes were kinda boring, made me feel as if their little squad wasn't really as close as they force them to be. aka "arigato gozaimasu" every other scene or the general small talk.

I think Sakura captures the cards a little too easily...
    I'm a little mad that Sakura's mind isn't constantly running ...

    Pretty but Disappointing.
Clear Card is visually stunning and super nostalgic, but that's all it's got going for it. It's part wholesome slice-of-life, part thriller, and entirely vapid and repetitive. They've substituted proper plot and character development for memories and suspense, and I don't appreciate it one bit!

I loved the original series, but this sequel is so frustratingly inferior that I don't even know if ...

Pretty bad once the novelty wears off
There is clearly a 90's early 00's revival going on. Everyone wants to re-live the Digimon's, the Dragonball's and the CC Sakura's that we all grew up with and miss. These revival shows can be very successful if done well. Here is my unpopular opinion/observation:

The first few episodes are everything we want: magic, Shaoran and Sakura moments, cute slice of life, comedic moments, etc. But ...

  • This show totally rocks!
I remember watching Cardcaptors as a kid (and the last subbed episode, plus the movies), and loving every minute! One of the original shows that gave me a lifelong love of anime. When I happened to hear about the sequel, I HAD to see it, and I have been so pleasantly surprised! This series is great (and can I say how much I love the new theme song?!) Definitely worth watching! Everything I love ...
