    Chaika - A decent adventure/quest anime
The show follows the adventures of Chaika, Toru Acura, Akari Acura, and Frederica. The main thing that pushes the show forwards is Chaika and her quest to to obtain all the preserved body parts of the late emperor Arthur Gaz. Supporting her in this quest is Toru and Akari: two adopted siblings who have known eachother since birth, saboteurs from a typical village hidden in a valley. The two have a ...

  • Excellent watch that keeps going until right before the end.
Excellent story with plenty of action, laughs, and drama to enjoy throughout the series. The only real problem with the series is the ending that seems to fall flat like production got cut short and had to be wrapped up immediately. Not the worst ending to a series I've seen, but not the best either.

Enjoyable action anime with a few interesting ideas
This is actually a hard series to review - while it has few obvious faults, it doesn't excel in anything either. One could say it's slightly above average in most respects, the main exception being the humour, which mostly feels forced and poorly executed.

Thankfully, while average, Chaika isn't completely generic. One thing that definitely stood out to me were two of the main characters: the ...

  • Dark, Funny, Action, and Serious...all at the same time?
Tons of action in this one, so if you're looking for that you definitely found the right spot, and it's not just short little scenes. There are some long battles here. Animation is beautiful. Story is average, but underlying themes and such are pretty serious and dark. The anime swings between dark/comedy pretty regularly, so it keeps you on your toes, and the ending was a bit....interesting ...

  • A Surprisingly Fun Experience
To be completely honest, I didn't go into this show with high expectations. I had been searching through the catalogues and I saw this show. The art for the cover looked rather bland so I passed it by. A couple of months later, I was on the internet and I found that BONES were the ones who produced the show. Having enjoyed many of the shows they produced before (FMA, Soul Eater and My Hero ...

  • Good fun, interesting
A 3 for me is "I like it". Quick review. It's enjoyable if you are a fantasy anime fan. I would avoid using this as someones intro into anime.

Where the anime was enjoyable, however nothing in it really hit a "wow" factor. The characters were relatively typical, kinda a Harem style anime where all the women around the man "want" something from him. There were some great funny parts, the ...

    The quest of a lifetime
The first anime i've watched since i joinen Crunchyroll and what can i say? It's great. And it's from Bones, my favorite studio.

The series itself has a lot of action, humor and dangerous moments, great characters, teamwork and, of course, Chaika herself. What's so great about Chaika? Aside from her gothic lolita-styled clothing, the speech style. You either hate it or love it. AND, there's a ...

  • Chaika story good, enjoy you will!
This very original show is the story of a certain traveling girl, she travels the lands and meets many people in search of her lost memories. Everything about this show has that 1800's Transylvanian era feel to it. Architecture in the art, technology, and society all reflect this theme very meticulously (with a magic twist). The mood of the show is very serious, even the humor has a serious tone ...

    Interesting Concept-
This anime definitely consisted of an interesting concept and decent battles worthy of watching.

However, two stars (maybe even a one) goes to the terribly rushed ending. It continuously hyped the last battle only for it to just end in ~20 seconds.
