  • Easy going laughter.
This show is very sporadic and random and it seems to skip around a lot but this is mainly due to the fact that it is based on a 4-koma manga. A lot of the negative reviews are all complaining about lack of plot or character development which is stupid. This is a high-school, comedy, slice-of-life show so those kinds of things aren't needed. It's comedy and a pretty good one at that. Most of the ...

    Glad I watched this show
I almost skipped this show because of the terrible (by CR standards) rating. I'm glad I didn't. When it comes to completely mindless fun this show is amazing. Yes, there's very little character development; yes, there's a similar character-scape to most other slice-of-life shows. But this show isn't trying to be anything new, it's just trying to make you laugh.

If you don't mind having the ...

Love it! But not for everyone.
This is an absolutely hilarious anime if you can get the jokes. The majority of the humor is reference based; be it other anime, classic literature, certain tropes or stereotypes, or classic video games. It has it all, and then some. And it can absolutely put you in stitches with all the laughs you can get out of it. But if you don't understand the material that's being covered, a lot of the ...

    Wonderful Bag of Nonsense
Sometimes you just want an anime to relax to and enjoy. You don't want serious plot, you don't want crying and romance, you just want something entertaining. Chronicles of the Going Home Club is a fantastic anime that doesn't care to make any sense and loves to make fun of itself. Try it out, give it a chance. It's a riot.

    OVERBEARING YET SUBTLE
THIS SHOW IS OVERBEARING YET SUBTLE ABOUT IT... A LOT OF THE JOKES ARE REALLY, REALLY BAD BUT BECAUSE THEY ARE SO BAD, THEY END UP ALMOST FUNNY, AND IF YOU THINK ABOUT THAT FACT YOU WILL REALIZE THIS IS WHAT THE POINT WAS, AND THAT IN ITSELF IS FUNNY, BUT ALSO A BIT SAD, WELL, I GUESS THIS IS IT, I MEAN IT HAS CRISTIANO MESSI IN IT, WELL PLAYED.

  • MY OPINION BRO t(Q^Qt)
Everyone says it lacks character development and all that sh*t but I thought it was funny and every week I was looking forward to a new episode and I loved it even more because of the yuri undertones

A tepid anime that could use some zest
I watched it all and I only did that because I wanted to finish something I started. It's not bad, but it's also not good. The animation was decent, but the writers only brought their C game, not their A or B. What truly saddens me is that I don't think it could have been better.

    Meh... Feels unpolished.
One of the few anime's I've dropped from episode one. The plot didn't really grab my attention and neither did the characters, the whole thing just felt rushed with no plot line or solid humour. I'm sure it may have got better in some places, however, considering all the anime there is out there waiting to be watched, I personally cannot be bothered to sit through another mediocre high school ...

Straightforward Gag Anime, Above Average Execution, Hella Sweet Gags
What sets Chronicles apart from other gag manga adaptation shows is a willingness to 'go with the flow' in later episodes and daring or tonally elevated gags that give the show more character than other 'just for jokes' programming. It's definitely scatterbrained, as other viewers mention, but I like to think it provides variety and keeps any jokes for going on too long. Also, did we forget the ...

I don't know about this one
I'm all up for random type comedy in anime, but... when there's no plot or even some type of direction everything is just a mess. Whole time you're asking yourself what is even going on? I managed to get to episode 4 when I finally gave up.
