Straightforward Gag Anime, Above Average Execution, Hella Sweet Gags
What sets Chronicles apart from other gag manga adaptations is a willingness to 'go with the flow' in later episodes and daring, tonally elevated gags that give the show more character than other just-jokes programming. It's definitely scatterbrained, as other viewers mention, but I like to think it provides variety and keeps any jokes for going on too long. Also, did we forget the common Western ...

I don't know about this one
I'm all up for random type comedy in anime, but... when there's no plot or even some type of direction everything is just a mess. Whole time you're asking yourself what is even going on? I managed to get to episode 4 when I finally gave up.

    Absolutely Hilarious!
I've seen that some people stopped watching after the first episode. That's a total mistake. This show is a blast. It's true that some of the characters lack development but, the show is a laugh riot. Give it a few more episodes and the humor definitely becomes more polished.

Would be better with some kind of plot or character development.
It's certainly funny at times but it's not that fantastic.

6 episodes now and there's only been development for one character so far, Botan who is this crazy powerful martial artist girl, which is just an overused aspect of the show.
She's not the main character yet get's pretty much all the focus, they should all have equal focus.
It starts with Natsuki seeming to be the most important ...

Going home is going well. . .
Another school club anime, but nicely done. Unlike so many others, however, this show focuses almost entirely upon club time, to the near-exclusion of seeing the characters at home or involved in normal school activities. The humor is often subtle, despite the writers' obvious love of puns, and reflects a lot of pop culture influences. The cast is an ensemble of five arch stereotypes (the ...

A witty examination of anime series
Many of these "comedy slice of life" series are an examination of the characters and their relationships with each other. The Chronicles of the Going Home Club really isn't about that. The characters in this series are more like a medium from which they serve up some kind of (usually amusing) commentary. I find that the jokes in this series have a subtle maturity and sophistication that you don't ...

    Unintersting No Laughs
This is the only show so far that I have tried watching on crunchyroll that I refused to watch past 1 episode. The characters were all bland and uninteresting. There was no humour (as far as I could tell) and the general progression of events left nothing to be desired. I literally found myself cringing my teeth (you know like when someone mentions Excalibur?) during this episode at how bad ...

    Not my favorite club
I've watched numerous club type animes and this one didn't keep my attention. Drifted off during most of the program. The characters are very forgetful and uninteresting. I watched the 1st episode because a person who reviewed this compared it too Azumanga Daioh and Haganai, which are my all time favs but this is nothing like it.

Why Make a High School Comedy for Nine Year Olds?
I will watch high school club anime, but I expect them to be more grounded than whatever this was. If you can't have relatable characters with relatable drama, then I at least expect to see some demon powers. It put me in a good mood at first, but maybe that was because the opening credits reminded me of Kokoro Connect, but it was not funny, and they had completely lost me when the girl (see, I do ...

Not your average high school anime
I tried this anime on a whim, curious at what it is about and I'm Glad I did. its not just another high school club anime, its random forth wall breaking and show reference makes it unique and funny. Just random stuff thrown at you from left and right. if your of fan of azumanga daiho, haganai and/or haiyore nyaruko-san then you 'll love this show
