CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion

Overall.
This was AMAZING everything about it satisfied me. I enjoyed the fresh characters the Storyline and the growing plot. How the villain is the good guy, and the good guy is the villain. To better explain that who Lelouch is dark and mysterious, his methods and actions are wrong but there for the right reasons, and Suzaku is fighting to become the knight of one to free japan and doing so sides with the people who are controlling his nation.

Storyline
The storyline was fresh, it didn't make me feel like i was looking at something i already see, there is reoccurring theme in every anime, there is always some great evil or force that must be overcome so the main character can grow and progress and for the greater good of the world, This Anime was no different in that aspect, but the curve balls thrown made for an interesting anime, as Lelouch went from school boy disowned by his father, to leader of an rebellion to free japan and eventually the world (spoiler i've seen R2). With unexpected deaths to deaths you see coming to people you think are going to die that live through the toughest fights seen and the use of mobile armor in this anime was a twist. Though just like other anime there were few with these weapons, the power and concept behind them was fresh and new. From just using plain Nightmares to Kallen's and Suzaku's Nightmares.

Music
the choice of music i feel may have inspired some of the anime, some of it just fits and blends in so perfectly that it couldn't have been any other way. If i could i would find this sound track i love the opening them the the first half of R1.

Characters
What can i say other than KALLEN IS ONE BAD CHICK. don't get me wrong Suzaku is where it's at too don't get me wrong, but Kallen WOW. all of the main characters and sub main are taken through there paces as they lose loved ones, find out the truth behind the mask of zero, release their friend has lied the entire time, and their father has Geass (spoiler). The feel the grow they evolve and grow stronger as the story goes on. The weak are killed as the strong cut a bloody path to freedom, because justice is determined by the winner. (this is my own logic it is not mentioned anywhere in this anime though it should be lol.) and when the story comes full circle a bomb shell is dropped that is so big that it makes you search the internet for R2.

Animation
not much can be said the animation was great i loved it. They felt alive to me, (i know there not but just saying) nothing choppy here. no scenes that looked half baked just good pure anime at it's finest.

I don't know where to start with Code Geass it has everything I look for, humor, drama, storyline, character development, and moments where I need to know more. The show takes place not too far in the future where the Japan has been striped of its rights becoming part of a larger empire called Britaniia, with the country lost of culture and natives rights there are rebellious Japaneses who wish to make the country its own again . The main character Lelouch is a normal britanian student (so it seems) who by chance is caught up in a "terrorist" act there the story starts to unfolded. The anime deals with a lot of current issues in a stylish way so to speak. They aren't screaming out the really mean but through the story. Racism, terrorism, war, murder, the struggle between the right and wrong thing to do. This show is unlike any other to me I recommended it to everyone!!

Code Geass is the most amazing anime I've ever seen. I was addicted right from the first episode. The storyline is so intense. The main character, Lelouch is just pure awesome. He is so smart, he blew my mind into a thousand little pieces --more than once. The ending of the anime was unlike anything I've ever expected, it was better. I couldn't get it out of my mind days after watching it. I doubt that I will ever come across an anime like it again. Code Geass is just sheer genius!

Well after hearing whispers about this here and there a i thought id do some digging and came across it in a local HMV store so i ended up buying it. I got home sat down and expected.. well i don't know what i expected but it certainly was not what i got. The story is very compelling, they give you just enough to make you hunger for more, a perfect example being the ending to R2, the show is full of cliffhangers and Sidetracks. Once you are sure you know what's happening they throw more fuel on the fire. The characters are brilliant, Kallen is a personal favourite of mine but they are all amazing. The music is also great, but i still fail to realise why they got rid of the first op, possibly the best op i have ever heard. The animation is usually very good, but they have a very bad habit of taking old footage and replaying it over and over and over.. you get my point, but this dies down after the mysterious Zero appears on the scene. i highly recommend this to everyone, it is one of the best Anime's of all time in my opinion =)

I have to say that this was a really good anime the last episode of R2 was a shaker to me not what i thought was going to happen. When i first watch this anime it reminded me of deathnote. at of both of them i seem to like code geass better then deathnote. with code geass you think you know what going to happen but then it does a twists on what you thought was going to happen i give it the thumbs up for that you don't see anime like this ever day. ^_^

Code Geass, I would have to discribe it as the best anime i have ever seen,
and ive seen more anime's than i can count.

Description -

setting - Britania, over 30% of the world is now controlled by Britania (usa),
and the world has turned into a state of chaos under the Emperor's rule.

The britanian main military force is based in japan, do to the location of the "securedite mine", which powers the autonomous nightmare frames(gundams) .and japanese are concidered the lowest of all races,
in short, taking over this country created a rule like none other.
A genicide, to be exact.

The last of the Japanese mainly lived in a small ghetto, and were refered to as "elevens" as the ghetto was based in "area eleven".
japanese were forced from there homes and permitted to do slave work for survival.
nobody cared.



PLOT -
Leouch, one of the many princes of Britania, was hidden from his father at "Ashford academy" , along with his sister nanally after-
witnessing his mothers murder, causing nanally's blindness and loss of her leggs.

lelouch being a powerless prince, also disliked the way britania ruled, and how the japanese suffer.
always wanting to change the world, even being a prince he couldnt help.



STORYLINE -
Lelouch was an honor student and part of the student council, he loved to ditch school and play chess with masters of the game, even though he never losses and gets paid well for winning, he only does it out of boredom.

His life goes on like this until one day a terrorist group steals a military weapon "or so everybody thinks", and Lelouch is on his way back
from a chess game, when the truck the terrorists were driving, crashes into a building.

Lelouch being concerned went to help, and discovered the stolen military weapon..
seconds from death, lelouch obtains "geass power" from his contact with the military weapon.lelouch now holds the ability to command anybody to do his bidding.

But such a power comes with conciquences and rules.

after obtaining this power, he realizes he can use it to change the world.

taking over a new identity as "zero", thats exactly what he accomplishes.

MY REVIEW -

Best anime and storyline ive ever seen, its clever from start to finish.

The idea of one person changing the world for the better of "all", and not "some",
instead of simply benefiting himself, using extraordinary brain power, his mind is one of the greatest in the world.

he uses his knowledge of chess and experience with his royal siblings, with his battle tactics, and never losses.
although he doesnt always win either but il save that for you all to watch,

but he always twists the situation around to his benefit.

This series gives a lot. This is a must watch but as a fan of anime please purchase the DVD's and watch the commentary on the episodes. This will give you a lot of insight and what it feels to be a voice actor/tress in the anime industry. Putting that aside, Lelouch Lamperouge is sick of the same life over and over. The world must be changed and he agonizes over the cruelty of the world, pointing at others, at him, and his beloved sister. Now, Lelouch will become the hero, but will he succeed? Will he become the one to ultimately change the world? Or will he still be just a tragic hero? Code Geass is full of impact, despair, yet in some episodes, there is still comic relief. Fans adore the life of Lelouch's student life and then return to how turn after turn, there will be betrayal, uncertainty, realization. The character designs are from Clamp and what can be noticed is the progress of technology throughout the series. Beautiful artwork, high detail in places like the hair, light and show. Also very colorful! Bringing together cultures in the series, which is also what Lelouch will also do. Doing whatever he can to achieve victory. Ever since that fateful day with a mysterious green haired girl, Lelouch now has all the cards in his hands! Are you read for the rebellion? Lelouch vi Britannia commands you!

Music: Astounding! Well, not everything. My favorite tracks would be just a few from each OST. But my top fav would be In Justice, the perfect theme for Zero! The music varies. During serious scenes, it can be 'quite' theatrical, the kind of music that draws me in and is just Full of energy! However there's a bit of jazz and spanish style music for "Zero" track in the OST as well as Black Knights theme. For scenes such as for normal life and school life, it's just fabulous music! Otherwise, we switch to sometimes either soft or low mysterious music or perhaps in a garden. Not much happy music but a few.

Characters: Find out yourself! Every character has his and her own struggle especially with values and with dealing with two sides. Even minor characters!

Animation: Animation is so-so but I think they have done great with this series! Great color and design!
