Like a coffee addiction - this series seriously leaves you craving for more. This is the best series I've seen so far. The acting was amazing, the story line is unique and interesting, and the emotion pulls you and and leaves you breathless. In fact, the only bad part about this series is that it only has 17 episodes. I've really never been one to re-watch a series once it's over, but I will most definitely watch this series again.

you should watch this

This is one of the first Kdrama's that I watched. It starts with a fair amount of humor then slowly gets more serious. The interactions of the characters and the history behind them makes this story work.

I had been looking for a good drama to watch for a long time. I've seen a few, and then for the past two years, I really hadn't found one that hooked me in. So I saw the high ratings behind Coffee Prince and gave it a shot. It took me two weeks to watch the first episode becasue I was halfway bored and had no idea what was going on. But the moment that one episode ended, I can't even seem to stop long enough to feed myself. This is by far one of the best dramas I have seen!! Its almost like you are expecting something to happen a certain way and it doesn't!! Not even close to what you would expect! I am totally in love with this drama. The acting and storyline was perfect. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this show. I suggest this drama to anyone to give it a shot! Its well worth it!

I'm not going to lie. This is the 2nd kdrama I've watched. (For those who are interested, Pasta was my first). And I have to say that although they are both undeniably GREAT shows, Coffee Prince is the one I watched repeatedly (and will again as soon as I finish this review ;p ).

The reason this series is SOOO good is not strictly because of the well-rounded, well-written characters or the strong actors who play them. It's not because of the story's tight pacing and directing. Nor is it the fact that the storyline is as endearing as it is unusual. It's because this is a true case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.

The whole cast leaves nothing to be desired. Each actor brings something to their character & sub-plot lines that you get the picture very quickly that you WILL care about the supporting characters almost as much as you do the leads.

The main storyline itself is a bit ludicrous but the dialogue and the acting lend realism to the outlandish scenarios. Gong Yoo's portrayal of a heterosexual man dealing with the issues of his sexuality will make your heart break for him. Throughout the series, he does an excellent job garnering sympathy, laughs, and open mouthed staring (Eun Chan was right. That black shirt did things to me). But he is not the only stand out performance. Eun Hye Yoon's Eun Chan was the right mix of adorable, tough, kind and butt-kicking. You really sympathize with her dilemma as well & want to shout at your monitor for her to just tell him the truth. When you put them together, the chemistry between the two leads is magical and not something to be missed.

I'm not going to go into examples for why you should watch it. This show has earned many accolades when it was first released and that should speak for itself. And notice that CR's stats for this drama show that it's got 6 times more votes than it's nearest competitor. Now that's saying something....

There is also the fact that within the first 7 minutes of episode 1, Gong Yoo walks around almost soaking wet and is a little more than half naked. But hey. If that doesn't entice you, you don't have to watch it.

Now just watch it. You won't regret it.

I was relatively new, to the world of K-Dramas, when I began watching Coffee Prince. I thought it was going to be one of those typical - you know what's coming next - stories, but much to my surprise it was not! This drama holds a special place in my heart, because it's story was different & very well told! I highly recommend Coffee Prince to anyone who is new to K-Dramas, or a long time lover of them! You will laugh, go "Ahhh...", relate to the characters dilemas, & maybe even shed a tear or two! You'll definitely be cheering on these characters, as they figure out the truth of what life & love really is about! You won't be disappointed!

This was my very first introduction to kdramas in general. It's great! The acting is pretty good, I love the story(gender bender), the characters are great, and I only wish this show had another season. You'll soon be sucked into the world of Coffee Prince and all that is kdrama. Misunderstanding, love triangles, and silly situations will get you hooked! As with most shows I've seen you always have to get over that 2-3 episode hump where you're still trying to get the feel of the show, believe me you won't be disappointed

Choi Han Kyul (Gong Yoo) is the cocky son of a very rich family who runs a food corporation. He has never had a job and doesn't care for responsibility. Han Kyul is hung up on his first crush and certainly doesn't want to get married despite his family's requests. On the other hand, Go Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye) is a 24-year-old tomboyish female who is often mistaken for a guy. She takes up every job possible—Taekwondo teacher, waitress, food deliverer, etc.—and has the responsibility of taking care of her mother, who has trouble not spending money, and younger sister. Eun Chan accidentally meets Han Kyul twice, once on a delivery and once during a robbery. During the robbery, Eun Chan's delivery motorcycle ends up being damaged. Han Kyul, not knowing that Eun Chan is actually a girl, decides to hire Eun Chan as a false "lover" so that he can escape the blind dates arranged by his grandmother. Meanwhile, Han Kyul's cousin, Choi Han Seong (Lee Sun Gyun), is an established music producer and his ex-girlfriend, Han Yoo Joo (Chae Jung Ahn), who Han Kyul has secretly loved for nine years, is a famous artist who studied in New York. The two were lovers for about 8 years, but their relationship ended when Yoo Joo broke up with Han Seong. Two years after they separate, their paths cross again when Yoo Joo returns to Seoul.

After getting an ultimatum from his grandmother, Han Kyul takes over a rundown old coffee shop, later renamed Coffee Prince, to prove his ability, both to his grandmother and Yoo Joo. In order to attract female customers, he only hires good-looking male employees. In a struggle with money, Eun Chan, whom Han Kyul has already mistaken as a boy, hides her gender to get a job at Coffee Prince. Soon, feelings start to spark between Eun Chan and Han Kyul. Because he's unaware that Eun Chan is a girl, Han Kyul starts to question his sexuality.

It's a really good drama. I really like it. At first when I read the storyline, I didn't really like it, but if I ACTUALLY watched it, its reallly good. It didn't really have much music that's great in the drama. But overall its excellent. Its really funny how they can't tell if its a SHE or a HE. XD Anyways, I guess its best if you actually watch the drama to tell if its a good drama or not. (:

In the beginning I wasn't really impressed with the storyline, but then I decided that I really wanted to know what was going on with Ko-chan, so I stuck it out, but when I got to episode 4 something changed, the whole plot was really put into place and now I can see how the love drama is really uncertain! I can see how each character has a place! I really don't know who Ko-chan loves more...I'm really excited to watch each episode, I don't even notice time going by. She's a great actress...she's almost made me cry a bunch of times!
