  • Sappy, Corny, Wonderful: How guilty should we feel for loving this show?
If you're looking for a guilty pleasure romance, you'll get sucked into binge-watching CP! If you're only comfortable with American rules of story-telling, you'll be frustrated, however. Coffee Prince follows K-drama rules: the main characters might be doing slapstick comedy one moment, and having a touching emotional crisis the next. I found these tone shifts jarring when I first started watching ...

Gender Bending Fun That Doesn't Overdo It
Gender confusion is nothing new, but in too many cases, people have a tendency to overdo it-- drawing things out and overdramatizing it for either hyberbolic comedy, or ridiculous melodrama. Thankfully, Coffee Prince uses at least a bit of discretion and ends up as a fun romantic story that tries to take a more reasoned look at gender roles. It eschews the standard, "She looks like a boy! Isn't ...

The chill that only Coffee Prince brings
I was amazed on how Coffee Prince would turn out. At first I thought that Eun-Chan really WAS a boy. (no offense to the actor) But like they said, she really was a very cute man. It's really amazing and hypnotizing on how a man could have so much love to another man it's very weird. But to be honest and i dunno why, but i kinda did want them to be together. This piece of art could not have been ...

    Love Coffee Prince but....
...I love the soundtrack even more! This show has introduced me to a lot of great Korean music. I find myself listening to the OST more instead of rewatching episodes, and each time I hear a particular song, I know what scene it correlates with. Didn't care much for Yoo-joo though and the storyline about Han-gyul and his father.

    A Sub Par Series Overall
This show is more comedy than drama. Too many slow boring parts, but the comedy parts were funny. I recommend you only watch this show if you are a very patient person.

I like Coffee and I like Dramas but.....
The only redeeming part of this drama was the adorable antics and interaction between the shop workers.
The way the romantic relationships evolved in it seemed a bit unhealthy and made me uncomfortable when it was obviously intended to be cute.

  • It might just be your cup of tea (or coffee)
Please don't let the rather blasé description fool you: This is one engaging k-drama, with both comedic and romantic themes that will keep you watching until the very end. Every character has something going on that makes you care about them, too, and not just the "main three". I lost a lot of sleep at night as I would promise myself "one more episode!". I finished the entire series over about ...

    A Purée of Gender Frustration
There's gender frustration and the two main protagonists built it upon themselves. It's like Pride and Prejudice. She's frustrated that she had to be a boy and still fallen for the guy as a boy; he's frustrated because he's a guy and he thought he fallen for another guy. She’s proud, he’s prejudiced. At the end, everything works out beautifully like how it should be.

  • I loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The female lead was kind of annoying at the end but i still liked it. i think when she was so headstrong and stubborn it got annoying but it was cute. There were parts at the beginning that made it hard at first but as it got more into the drama the characters flowed better and werent as awkward
