Coffee Prince a Unique Development of the Cross Dressing theme

The cross dressing theme is as old as Shakespeare, probably older, but Coffee Prince gives this ancient theme a unique twist that makes it fresh and endearing. In the usual cross dressing theme, the female character and the reason behind the cross dressing is sometimes shallow. Plus the guy falls in love with her while she is not dressed as a guy. In this story, however, Eun Chan is a real tomboy and her personality and her looks make people question her gender. She has being cross dressing since a young age and has taken the role due to her family's economical situation. The story deals with the issue of gender and how people define their relationships by it. All characters, including the secondary ones, are well developed and they all contribute to the question of how relationships should be between man-woman and man-man. The story dares to be different in that Han Gyul actually accepts his love for Eun Chan (believing she is he) inspite the fact that it goes against his own heterosexual tendencies. At the end the truth about Eun Chan's gender is known and what makes the story believable is the fact that the audience can see how they adapt to the facts and how some things have to change in the way they treat each other.

It is a lovable story, one where you can make a connection with the characters and how they deal with the different situations that shape the story plot.

This drama is one of my top 10 favs :D. love the story line and characters are so cute ;). I'm a fan of cafes also and i would love going to a place like coffee prince coffee shop with alot a cute guys:)

This show was purely amazing. It has so many qualities that appeal to so many viewers. It has its hilarious comedy moments, yet its heartfelt. I know I cried many times. The Most Refreshing Drama Ever

When its comes to Dramas, i'm the first to say if it's cliche or not. I found this Drama ot be unexpected and adorable. I loved the actors also and i don't say that alot. I loved the charactes ,pstly though. they were all exciting and charming to me. Exspecailly the princes of the Coffee Shop. I highly reccomend the Drama!!!!! I Hope You Love It!!! ^-^

I think this korean drama is pretty good. I think its pretty funny that Choi Han Kyul was having second thoughts if he was gay or not, Haha. But yeah it was a pretty good drama to watch. I would recommend it.

This was a wonderful drama/comedy. You just fall in love with all of the characters and the ending does not disappoint. I found myself in tears many times throughout this story. All I can say is THIS STORY IS WONDERFUL!!! Watch it! You won't be disappointed.

The show has a cute idea and at times it is cute, but it can be overly sappy and redundant. I believe the first 7 or so episodes held my interest.

The story focuses on EunChan, a girl of low income. She works many jobs to take care of her family. She looks like a guy and that leads to the leading male to offer her a job in sabatoging his dates. She pretends to be his gay love to get rid of all of the blind dates. After that Eun-Chan begins working in his coffee shop and continues to confuse him about his sexual preference. He's attracted to a guy? The show becomes overly complicated with a mess of tears, should I shouldn't I, power struggles, etc.

The relationship between two of the characters was annoying. The leading male could be very controlling, but the way the wrote it portrayed it as love rather than dominance. I like the traditional Korean dramas much better. This was my first non-historical drama.

The girl who plays Eue-Chan's sister and Mr Han were both quite good and were my favorite characters in the show.
I think the storyline had more potential than what was presented here.

Adorable Laugh Out Loud Dramedy

I love it!! made me laugh and cry but in a good way.. It's cheesy but it's the kind of cheese that just gets you to want more of it!! sure it's predictable but it felt right. The characters are all funny and of course I loved the main actors and actresses!! Oh and Han Gyul is sooooooooo cute!!

Coffe Prince - Enjoyable and Entertaining

There are some hilarious episodes in this K-Drama which depicts a woman pretending to be a man in order to work at a coffee shop. The situations and comic acting help to make this drama an enjoyable and entertaining one. Great acting, story line is a little predictable but you can forgive that with the "feel good' ending.

Love Coffee Prince!!

Fantastic Drama!!! So far definitely my favorite. Angsty at times, but so worth the watch. Watched all 17 episodes in 3 days. Fantastic acting and fantastic plotline!! Perfect amount of romance. Not too mushy. Just right.
