At first I thought " Im going to see new cuties, especially the japs!" but there were just a few whom I thought was "Cute"
The characters here are good, I know they're weird but good and about the acting of the characters are a bit hard unless you really practiced, that's why im giving more than average rating. For the music, I didn't find it interesting, nor boring, its just .... not that catchy ^_^"

Overall it was fun watching.

May be you can say this movie because the video's length is around 40 minutes. But I would rather to say this is a documentary about cosplay in western. This video contains much cosplayers in some exhibition. From anime (Made in Japan) until local cartoon. At the beginning it shows some anime cosplay, then the introduction, explaining about what cosplay are. Then there would be peoples were interviewed, answering the sub-tittles. What is cosplay, how to get the costume, competition, characters act, and so on.

It's not too bad video, but may be too boring because I rare hearing music, only people talks and whispering.

For those whose really want to know (more) about cosplay, watch this video, then let your knowledge increase.
For those whose already know (too much) about cosplay, watch this, and criticize it

Nice, from a comtech student's point of view

I just finished making my own documentary, though it was nowhere as good as this one. The shots were all at good angles and the people did not look like they were scripted. The costumes were pretty good, an overall it was a pretty good film.

It was actually kind of inspiring...

Although some may say that the cosplay was “bad” or “could’ve been better”, that’s not the point of the movie. It’s about cosplay itself, not weather it’s good or bad. It shouldn’t matter if the costumes were that good or not it just simplifies it to fact of people loving cosplay. I for one liked the movie and it actually made me feel kind of good. It inspired me to want to make my own movie about cosplay here in Virginia, at nekocon and chibicon to be exact =]

Crunchyroll fails it

What little of this film I saw was great, though I stopped fairly quickly due to the overabundance of commercials added by Crunchyroll to a clearly not-for-profit homemade film. Sad to say, Crunchyroll is no longer on my list of sites to watch on thanks to their greed and ignorance of their viewers' wishes.

Except the moral of the movie(which comes in after what, 30 minutes of boredom?), 'why pirated bootlegs and merchandise are bad because it is hurting the industry', there is almost nothing in it that impressed me. But I do have to admit there are some decent cosplays.

I wouldn't say it was a complete waste of my time, but it was unnecessary to watch. Generic knowledge. People who would watch it already have some understanding what the words otaku, etc means. The font was also horrible, Comic Sans wasn't it?!

Reply to why Japanese anime is "awesomely godly good". It is because they actually put some effort in the process. You've got the costume, why not go full out? Does Kurosaki Ichigo wear glasses? I guess everyone should know the answer by now.

Overall, there was nothing interesting. Maybe except for when Itachi did his Katon hand seals.

P.S: I did not recognize Matt Ishida if it weren't for the cosplayer herself stating Digimon.
P.P.S: Why does the anti-hentai fan have the word "Tsundere" on it?
P.P.P.S: Thundercats, Batman, Avatar: The Last Air Bender, Ben 10, etc. are good American cartoons too.

there was a very amateur-ish feel to this documentary. doesn't look any different than the other documentary other people have made online about the subject. if you know nothing of Anime, Manga, and Cosplay, or if you are very new to it, this is okay to watch to start learning.

it was nice that you could get a sense of what small cons are like, but i feel that the director and producers should also have gone to bigger cons, and possibly to picnics, to get a wider sample of cosplayers from around the country.

plus, i like that they discussed the subject of Fansubbing. I like checking out show thru fansubs, but i will support the release of a show by buying its American release.

I can't really stand the movie very much. So my advice is this:

If You want to know what the cosplay costumes in America is like, then go and watch, Briefly.
Else, there is bascially no point to watch.

The camera is always fidgetly, and the people are basically interviewed with very simple questions which you and I all know the answer to.
