"Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region."
Then why am I on a monthly subscription, if not to legally stream anime!? This is absurd!

First off, I'll give it 5 stars because I'm watching it on Hulu. Why crunchyroll? Why?

Anyways, Kokonotsu (The protagonist) is son to the owner of the towns' candy shop. He's not really interested in succeeding his father, he'd rather draw manga for a living. That's when Hotaru shows up (One of two ...

Not sure why S2 is here and S1 isn't.
I did see that non-review that explained why the first season of the show isn't available. However, it was written in February of last year, so, possibly outdated. Now CR appears to be simulcasting the second season of this show, but the first season is still not here? Okay then, neat, I guess...

But it doesn't appear to matter. The show doesn't seem to have any sort of particularly deep story ...

I absolutely love this series! Own S1 too.
Some people don't care for it's quirky humor, trivia, and characters for some reason completely unknown to me as to why. I love everything about the anime. It's fairly accurate to the manga too, so that's also a plus.

    And Saya is simply adorable.

    "Quick! To the Asian Market!"
First of all, I hate how CR doesn't have this. I'm on Hulu watching this. Anyway, review.

2 episodes in and I love it. Simple plot but this show focuses on is what we're watching it for. An anime about snacks. Sounds stupid? It is in the way Lucky Star and Nichijou are. Stupid but just great. What this show doesn't have is a huge cast of characters. But the cut aways where candies and snack are ...

  • I've never been so entertained watching commercials.
    Now I'm hungry.

Seriously though. We've got a lovely bunch of weirdos for our cast, a cavalcade of junk food+trivia, and just the right touch of awkward human interaction.

My only complaint would be that the episodes are too short leaving you with the feeling that it all ended just a little bit too soon.

  • This show is not for everyone
Lemme say that I thought this show sounded interesting and then I actually watched it. It was a short series and it was hard to get through it. There's something about Hotaru that is hard to watch her onscreen. It might be the color combo of her hair and the eyes but anyhow, the story just seemed there. Nothing exciting and definitely not worth a recommendation for me to tell others.

    Kokonotsu ...

  • Anime Candy Dramatic infomercials!
This show is kinda dumb, but it's dumb in a fun and enjoyable manner. The shortened episode format keeps things easily digestible, while also allowing for plot developments to occur without overstaying it's welcome. The fun jabs this show takes at other anime is entertaining, mostly due to the use of candy being used to illustrate the jabs. Plus if you happen to be generally curious to what ...

  • The Good Old Days store
There was a store like this in the old neighborhood of my youth. Fond memories...(ask your parents or grandparents). Well designed characters, some witty dialogue, and detailed environment makes for enjoyable viewing. Sometimes the characters do seem to be horribly cross-eyed or bit too nutso-eyed. One down side for me is with very attractive female anime characters there is insufficient fan ...
