    This is so slooowwwwhatishappening (Ep1)
First half of the episode or so plodded along at the break-neck pace of my grandmother scrolling down a page on the internet. And then the rest of the episode happens. It did it in such a way that was completely unexpected, exciting, and made you want to pay very close attention. It starts off seeming like a shoujo slice-of-life-turned-magical-girl anime, when in reality it turns into an anime ...

An Anime like Puella Magi Madoka Magica and super Great!
I really like this Anime. I do not care what people think of this. Aniplex made an amazing anime like Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

    Plot:
Since ancient times long past, this world has been ruled by two tarot cards.

Diablos Tarot—The tarot of the devil that feasts on the souls of living humans and uses that nourishment to bring countless pain and suffering.

    Elemental Tarot—The ...

  • Illusions of the sun and friendship!
Action-packed, heart-aching at times and dark Mahou shoujo series similar to Puella magi.

The animation was a little strange at times (Mainly how skinny the legs of the girls are e.t.c) however it was unique in its own way. The opening sets a very good tone to the series. Some episodes went into a dark and sad plot however there was also good happy moments such as the girls going shopping in ...

  • amazing graphics. even better story.
"day break illusion." is an action packed story with personality and heart.
this is a great story which follows Akari through her journey to becoming a "tarot user."
the graphics were amazing and had real depth, and even the sad episodes were perfect. if you like action, life and teary eyes then this is the anime for you. the only complaint I have is that they don't explain the ending and you ...

  • Really good art, wish the story was longer (and better)
The art in the anime looks really good. The story is quite interesting as well, but I wish it was longer. It ended too early and too abruptly, causing things to feel rather incomplete. I'd have been happy to have watch 40 episodes of this, and I think it could have been so (actually making the story longer and more interesting in the process - however, I think the first episode actually could have ...

  • I don't wanna be mean. . . but meh
Day Break Illusion has so much here that can be good, but for some reason it never seems to realize it. Well, pros of the series are; nice shiny animation, some interesting character designs, and good sound quality. However, the cons are; unfocused story, generic one dimensional characters, underutilized plot devices, and the stroy seems to have no weight behind it.

So, getting back into this, ...

    SO MUCH Lost Potential!!
Day Break Illusion is a series that could of joined Madoka Magica in building the dark magical girl sub-genre, instead it simply copied it with little originality. What little originality this series does contain comes from its Tarot Card Reading theme which doesn't effect the progression of the series as much as you might think. Day Break Illusion can be exciting at times and deliver emotional ...

  • Short, Dark, and Shojo - and Surprisingly Good
I was originally attracted to this anime because of it's unique art style, and that quirky blend of cute, dark, and angular lines is something that kept me happily watching: the art is, in my opinion, quite refreshing.

The first episode started out slow, but picked up at the halfway mark, and this is generally how the episodes work throughout the series. The pace is slower than some other ...

This is a very Dark anime, don't be fooled.
    People's souls become corrupted.
And they must be executed by magical girls.
Those people's very existence is then erased from reality.

The main hero must come to terms with and accept what she has done.
There must be another way, so she thought.

This show is very generic but it does everything very well.
If you like puella magica or shakugan no shana, this is exactly what you are ...

  • A type that lives up to expectations
Bluntly putting it, this lived up to my expectations in a different way. Since I haven't been watching as much anime as much, I didn't get to watching the show until 2014. Back then, I saw the preview stuff and I thought I was going to get some epicly rad magical girl anime with alternate universes. Yes, I was wrong, but it surpassed my expectations of something amazing quite quickly.
    While at ...
