Death Parade Is About Life, Death, and the Darkness of the Human Heart
Death Parade is fantastic for its complexity. It explores the human nature to a far deeper extent than most other shows I've seen. First off, Death Parade is surprisingly good at Character Development throughout the show. Secondly, the soundtrack is both technically impressive and utilized wonderfully within the series. Furthermore, the animation is absolutely breathtaking. If you're interested in ...

    Death Parade, another semi-hidden gem.
Death parade is a mixture of mystery, fantasy and intrigue with a fairly unique setting, story and set of characters (It also has a great OP to boot.). The show takes a sort of game style format and follows a bit of a episodic format for the first half. There is an overarching plot line but it really is not the reason why this show is so much fun.

The plot of the show is built around the ...

    My first ever review
I have watched probably close to 100 different shows and have never felt the need to write a review for one. So already you can tell that this show is going to be pretty special. Without a doubt one of the greatest shows I have ever watched. The emotions it inflicts upon you in incredible. This is a must watch for any anime fan out there. Just have some tissues nearby

    Humanity in moments.
An anime that's both simple and complex. It covers topics of revenge, love, friendship, vulnerability, and sacrifice, among many others. This anime is very "human". In attempts to illicit the darkness human beings hold inside their hearts, the understanding of if this is something that someone has practiced throughout their lives or simply a "darkness" that is generated in the grueling situation in ...

Sucks you in from the start!
Death Parade is one of those hidden gems deep in Crunchyroll's show list. the story completely sucks you in from the first episode and onwards. It penetrates deep into human nature. [spoiler Death Parade is a mix of both mystery and fantasy, the games they play tends to determine if the characters that are introduce in every episode go to Heaven (Reincarnation) or Hell (the Void). ]

Thoughtful and creative without being trite
Similar to Cowboy Bebop, the show has an episodic situational format, where entirely new characters are introduced for the sake of the episode's situation, and are fully fleshed out within that one episode they appear in. The recurring cast is more slowly fleshed out, all with one larger, underlying plot that comes to head in the last few episodes. The "twist" or "reveal" of the core mystery ...

  • Absolutely Amazing. Brought me to Tears
This is one of my favourite anime and I would recommend it even to people who aren't fans. The characters, music, and visuals are all excellent and serve to compliment an amazing story that really pulls on your heartstrings. Each episode kept me entertained and the series ended with a satisfying conclusion (although I would be very happy if the anime got a sequel...).

  • Interesting and touching
At first I thought I would be bored by some characters stoic nature but there is so much development in just 12 episodes that kept my interest and pulled at my heart strings. An interesting look at human nature and a couple pokes at the meaning of life. Easily one of my favorites

  • A gorgeous philosophical commentary
This show surprised me so much! Starting off, it seemed like it was going to be a basic show with clear tropes. However, as the show continued, the characters, including the side characters, became much more dynamic and story became a beautiful (while dark) exploration on the value of life. Amazing writing and beautiful animation! Definitely worth the watch!

  • Death Parade: the anime you need to watch. Like, now.
What happens when you die? Maybe you play a game of billiards to see who is reborn and who descends to a lower realm. Or maybe not.
The concept itself is not entirely original- everyone has a theory of the afterlife- but the execution is wonderfully touching, imaginative, thoughtful and heartbreaking. Death Parade is dark with a soft side and I just absolutely loved it. I'm so sad it's not more ...
