    It's like, pretty good
All in all I'd say Dragonaut - The Resonance is a fine piece off Media. It has dragons, hot girls, and hot girl dragons, so it has that going for it. This shows also good if your looking for something lighthearted, though the main male character, Jin, has a tendency to go full edgy emo boi.

    Frustrating, but addictive
The story, while not entirely without merit, is stupidly forced at times. The premise is fine, but the execution is weak. I would think "There's no way it should be possible for X to happen, but for the sake of plot, it's going to." ... and then it would. It got so bad that I tried to drop the series halfway through, but by that time I was attached enough to certain characters that I had to ...

    At least it's animated well
Typical Gonzo products are an ok premise with mysterious elements thrown in and animated well. The problem is that they never resolve the mysteries, the conclusions always involve some sort of deus ex machina or some other cheap cop out ending.
This one... There's no sense of dramatic tension because the protagonist can do nothing at all and just wait for everyone else to fix the crisis of the ...

  • This makes zero sense even in fantasy
This show makes no sense, from the plot, to the characters actions and motivations, to the art. It looks like some random ecchi shounen and I did not expect much in the way of plot from this show, but it just kept going in random directions. It did stick to the normal trope that love/friendship/will are all you need to win the day though.

  • 2008 Anime formula!!
This is the kind of anime that get referenced by most Rom-Com anime, with all the cliches, old anime where like this, and truly cannot be judged in the same manner, since we are used to a different modern anime formula.

giving 5 to balance its rating to something realistic.

  • Fanservice isn't enough to get past the terrible writing
Somewhere between boring and painful to watch. Fanservice isn't even good enough to make it worth suffering through. Couldn't get through the 2nd episode. I bet the H-doujinshi of the series are more compelling and satisfying, in both writing and fanservice.

  • A pure, very shonen show
Aimed straight at the shonen anime/manga crowd,.right in the Inuyasha vein. Melodrama, skimpy costumes on hot females, battles with more yelling than action, and the same old, same old. A product of it's times, animation quality is poor by current standards, though it is average for it's production year, dialogue really is mediocre at best. I did enjoy this series because I'm a fan of Witless Twit ...

  • I mean, it's not the worst out there, but also nothing worthy
I still actually remember watching this almost over a decade ago when it first aired during those times. Back then I thought nothing of it at first but as the series when on it definitely dragged with its story, character's, and the overarching plot.

Fast forward to now and yeah, I would definitely skip this one. Even the fanservice at later points seem draining, forced and overall a shoe-in ...

  • Generic, boobs not worth it.
I admit, I added it to my list because it was listed in ecchi. I was in the mood for a boobfest, even with the low rating I saw, so I figured why not.

Ten episodes in, I'm done. It was like the creators of the show constantly went out of their way to pull viewers out of the story. For a story to work, you have to care about the characters, but the characters here only have two modes: moody or ...

  • Don't judge a book by its cover- or description
Ah, Dragonaut.. how I missed you. Here's the thing: the cover will give the impression that it's all about fan service, and so does the description, but having watched this anime I can tell you it's definitely not. It's basically a finding-your-true-self anime, battle between good dragons and bad- nothing hugely original save for Toa's weird diner waitress' uniform with the tightest shorts you've ...
