addresses Nozferi and MisouAngel: The story is from a novel series by Nahoko Uehashi. I think that those books have English translations. If so than it'd be best to adopt names from them since translators refer to the author on vague words.

Nozferi, That's to do with the Translators. Most often they don't use the same translators or the same editors for these, so that tends to screw up any set way of spelling anything in subbed anime.
