as a musician, opening song is awsome. singing style is traditional japanese singing.... like... ari rang (korean traditional song). there are certain ways to sing it and just the arrangement of the song is awsome. cant hate this song

Mark your comment as a spoiler goldenrod285. And it's "sugoi" not "sugoy". I agree with Burntnipples on the the griffins analogy. In ancient Europe and the Balkans griffins were mythical symbols of kingly powers just like in this story.

Kairahana, I don't think direct analogs are easy to come by. The Tohnda are a bit like Dragons, and seem close to Giant Japanese Salamanders. The Ouju are like Griffins and I suppose the best analog would be a large raptor, Haast's Eagle?
