Fate Zero

Ok so fate zero is basicly about this war between like 18 people who fight for the holy grail that grants a miracle. So basicly there are masters, who are modern day normalish people, and there are their servants who are legendary heros (hercules, medusa, king arthur,etc) The masters and their servants fight against the others, and they try to win to get the holy grail. Legends brought to modern world, how cool is that??? There are messed up characters and there are those honorable knight like characters. A lot better than the cliche evil against good battles. FATE ZERO IS A LOT BETTER THAN FATE/STAY NIGHT U NO Y? ITS CUZ THERES NO SHIRO!!! WE DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO HIS PEOPLE DIE WHEN THEY ARE KILLED CRAP!!!SABER IS A LOT STRONGER NOW, AND NOW WE JUST WATCH BADASS CHARACTERS FIGHT IT OUT!!

Mind Blowing Animation, Baddass OST by Yuki Kajiura, 3 Dimensional Characters who you will find yourself attached to, complete with the writing and directing of Urobuchi Gen. This show is going to blow your mind. Fate/Zero is a prequel to the best selling Visual Novel, Fate/Stay Night,and reveals what truly went on during the 4th Holy Grail War. The Holy Grail war is a fight participated by 7 Masters, who command 7 Servants (Heroes from the past or future made legendary by their deeds) to win the Holy Grail, a holy object that can grant the winner any wish. It focuses on Emiya Kiritsugu, adoptive father of FSN protagonist Emiya Shirou, and Saber, as they go through the horrifying week that is the 4th Holy Grail War. The Animation and Art is as good and maybe even exceeding that of Ufotable's previous work, Kara no Kyoukai. Unbelievable action sequences, bone chilling OST, and characters (all the master and servants) that are more than what meets the eye. This will be a show to be remembered, and may have secured a seat as the best anime this year.

I feel this anime has the potential to be on the all time classic list depending how creative you guys get with the plot and fight scenes. good story line.

So far being huge Fate/stay and unlimited bladeworks appreciator as well as collecting various items/games I find myself enjoying zero as well. Unlike fate/stay night, fate/zero's battle <end episode 3 and during eps4> that is currently taking places is a bit more in depth compared to most of stays 1 shot fights or withdrawls. Character storyline interests are just as great as <fate/stay> far as introductions and building depth. I hope to see more of this storyline and constantly catching these each time newest is posted. Maybe in future we may see titles like Fate hollow/ataraxia, fate/extra storylines to show where shiro's paths take him and which reality stays around after unlimited bladeworks happened. Good job so far!

The story is great. You can finally understand the idea of the Holy Grail better after all it's a prequel. The animations were cheap, for example Berserker. The music is not bad. I rather take the animation music of Fate/Stay Night because of better music compositions. So far the selection of characters are great. In terms of watching an overall anime, watch Fate/Zero before /Stay Night. You will get a better understanding of the story if you do so. Otherwise you will get confused of how there was a fight in prologue.

As a die hard fan of Fate/Stay Night, the Visual Novel that started it all, I bestow on this anime the greatest and most flattering hyperbole you can think of.

Go ahead, think of one. I'll wait.

What did you come up with? Well, it's better than that, seriously.

If you have not played the Visual Novel, I weep for you. Do so now. Right now. If you are reading this review, you have the time and patience and intelligence to procure a copy and see it to the end. I promise you, you will not regret it.

Hell, I failed a class because I couldn't pull myself away, and I dont regret it!

Allow me to explain my scores. Overall it was great. Everything works, and I want more every week. Storyline is solid so far. You really need to know what went on during the 5th war to really grasp the motivations of everyone in the 4th, but once you do, it is storytelling at its most dramatic. Music was cool. I left off half a star because no track really stuck with me afterward, but I had no complaints while I watched, and I don't have much of an ear, anyway. Characters are fantastic. Each of them feels like a real person, with dreams and goals and vibrancy. Animation was crisp and the special effects really improve the shots when they use them. I left off half a star because the designers made me dizzy in one scene, you'll know the one.

While I wholeheartedly believe that this Anime can stand on its own as a fantastically entertaining work; only by experiencing it in its context as a prequel can get the full effect of the tension and presence these characters have been imbued with. I strongly recommend Fate/Stay Night, and if you like movies, the studio also made a great one out of the Unlimited Blade Works route.

Be warned, these are complex machinations at work. Do not watch while tired or otherwise distracted!

I enjoyed the first Fate Zero so much that I didn't think this second one could be as good but I was so wrong. The storyline is great but the building of the individual characters' stories is the real meat of this anime. It is so exciting and yet thought-provoking at the same time. Rider is my favorite character but they are all interesting and very well fleshed out. The anime is superb and the costuming is great. This is one you wish could go on and on. I will really enjoy watching the original after seeing the beginning.
