    Ultimate Magical Girl
While Prisma Illya is part of the Fate franchise, it takes place in an alternate Fate universe where things turned out much differently for the characters featured in the previous Fate series.

The show centers on Illyasviel von Eisenbern, who, through a twist of circumstance, unexpectedly becomes a magical girl. The rest of the series follows her life and adventures as such. While the show ...

    Know what you're getting into
Most people that expect some sort of deep, meaningful anime in the style of Fate/Zero are left disappointed. And while those sorts of anime are great, this isn't one of them. It knows exactly what it wants to do, and does it fantastically. So if you're expecting cuteness, well animated-action, a bit of yuri, with an actually decent plot behind all that, then you're in for a treat. If that's not ...

Definitely not a Mainstream Fate Title
Don't come in here expecting to see a Fate/zero or a Fate/stay night style show. A lot of people don't realize that a lot of type moon stories are actually in alternate realities. Fate/stay and Fate/zero are the only mainstream stories with anime adaptations. The rest are all alternate realities. This one happens to be a loli and it's not too bad.

Not fond of this genre, but still amazed.
I feel weird saying this, but I really like this anime. The magical girl theme never really appealed to me, but this anime presents it in a much more mature way than expected. Yes there's little girls, yes there's magical powers. But it's also linked up with an interesting story and great characters. One thing that really amazes my about this anime (at least in the second season) is the battle ...

Its cute and funny with an underling seriousness
I was a big fan of fate zero and this anime is related to it, however this anime is its own animal. U really cant compare it to fate zero because its really a different genera. Its a cute comedy anime with some occasional great action. Its a hybrid. ( a very good one ) and I would say the thing that sets it apart is the fact that the lives of the magical girls are often in very real danger of ...

    A intrepid adventure
At first you think this show will be about Illya's friends which you see from the previews. However, if you have not seen either series before the show may seem like a normal anime. Which in reference it might not be a good idea to watch either before you watch this one.

In comparison thus far the show is quiet good. I like Illya's character and that she's embarrassed to do the normal magic ...

The only mahou shoujo anime I'll watch
Normally I'm not one for magic girls but when I heard the Fate series was doing one I had to watch it. One thing I like the most is you get a good mixture of what makes Fate a great series and the fun magical girls experience, although this is more on the serious side.

If you're a fan of any Fate manga or anime from Fate/Stay Night to Fate/Zero you'll most likely enjoy watching this. ...

Even as a non MG watcher, the show is pretty deep.
Personally, I haven't seen any of Fate/Zero. Illya is your common moe confused-protagonist who get's sucked into a different world to and almost forced to participate in the activities for Clocktower. Miyu, another commonly found character type, is an interesting combo for this series.

A fantastic, alternate universe Fate series
Going into this series, I expected a typical magical girl show, and the first few episodes adhere to that somewhat, with fan service and sparkles. However, this series is so much more then that. It lampoons the tropes of the magical girl genre fairly frequently. The amount of suspicion Ilya has towards the whole business is hilarious. It makes it clear fairly early on that being a magical girl ...

    Wonderful twist of "Fate"
You do not need to have seen the others series' to watch this wonderfully cute and awesome Magical Girl show! Though as a huge Fate Universe fan myself, it only made the viewing experience all the better! A lot of people say "don't take this show seriously" but I would say that it is seriously fun and heart warming! I can't wait until season 2!
