    Brooding, Psychological, Unconventional
In spite of being yet another anime / manga about grade school life, Flowers of Evil is far from a typical anime. It uses rotoscoped animation to develop characters through vivid, nuanced facial expressions, as well as a somber, slow pace of action that puts emphasis on setting and scenery. The result is remarkably true-to-life feeling, and well suited to the story, much of which takes place in ...

evil is in the eye of the beholder
Unique in it's realism, the mundane nature of these souls trapped in a rusted tin town. They seem to want to burst thru all of the "normal" behaviour, the expectations of those around them. Societal norms. Repression, conformity. All of the angst we all go thru at that age. Nothing is what is supposed to be. Wonderful story telling, atmosphere, music, artfully done.

There is a lesson that can be learned
It's worth investing your time into, though it has a slow pace. It's better if you start watching without a clue of what it's about. It's amazing and suspenseful, you really wonder just what could happen next, episode after episode.

Aku No Hana - The Present, Future Cult Classic
I'm still trying to understand and identify anime "tropes" such as tsundere, moe, yuri, etc... Even if I still don't have the full grasp of each concept I do know that 99% of the content I see as popular on CR involves a major trope as part of their key plot line. Anime is really a polar opposite to what we've seen on Fox - anime takes the characters, develops them and in many cases the MC and ...

    Wonderful adaptation!
Unlike many watchers, I began with the anime before reading the manga. To me this is a faithful adaptation of the source material. The animation really does a great job of translating those long, lonely nights sitting on the riverbank of a rotting town.

I will definitely pick up the Blu-ray set when it's released.

    soamazinglybeautiful
So far, so good. I, personally have not read the manga. I have nothing to compare to, but I prefer it that way. This way I can enjoy this as a piece of art standing on its own, and from what I've seen so far, its beautiful. The art style, though different from what anime viewers are used to adds a realistic and incredibly emotional effect to the story. Its different. But its done so perfectly. On ...

    Unique, but not for everyone.
This anime is not for everyone, because it is not your usual anime. the Story line makes a big deal out of a small event, and in a beautiful way. Instead of the anime following a protagonist that finds acceptance of everyone and ends up with the best possible situation, this anime follows a social inept who goes from being shy into a complete maniac, and taking you in a journey with him. The ...

    Very good, suspensful and traumatic
The show started out slow, but as you REALLY get into it, you realize its very deep and scary. The amount of stress and anxiety this show gives when you watch it is crazy. Mental trauma should be a notable side-effect to watching this.

    Watch this show!!!!!
It may not be action packed, but this is one of the best anime I have ever seen. The art style is something to get used to, but once you do, you realize that it matches the story perfectly. I was hesitant at first because of the art, but by the end of the first episode I literally had chills because of what Takao Kasuga had done and the reaction of the dark, twisted Sawa Nakamura.

I look forward to every new episode
I'm new to watching anime, so I don't have a lot to compare this to yet. I absolutely love this though. It seems people either love this or hate it without much in-between. It leaves me feeling a bit creeped out after every episode, but wanting more! For that reason I love it. The music is scary and adds a great touch to this twisted story.
