I wasn't sure this was for me...
The premise sounded ok...but I wasn't sure it was really what I wanted to watch...my tastes in anime tend to gravitate toward the lighter side...as an escape from the daily grind...

Having finished watching 5 of 13...it is starting to gow on me...I am liking the characters and the artwork is unique among anime today...the animation style is reminiscent of the animated classic "Heavy ...

Reminds me of the film work of Andrei Tarkovsky
Per my review title: I love that this anime takes it's time. It enjoys the long shot (long sequences without much action or talking). It goes about it's business much in the way a lot of foreign art house moves of the 50-70s did.

The sound design is brilliant. I cannot stress this enough. The art, as I am sure you have read by now, is done via a rotoscoping process. I really like it. I've ...

Give The Flowers of Evil a Chance
I'll admit that the rotoscoping took a little time to get used to initially, I've grown to enjoy it. In fact, it does make more sense as far as the story.

In the manga version, Nakamura is cute. Even if she was socially awkward, the boys would ignore that based on appearance alone. In the anime version, you get a more realistic look at the characters and its easier to see why she is considered ...

I really like it. Different and unique
This is my first time watching an anime with a different animation. I have to disagree with most people and I must say, it's great that they did this type of animation. Because this anime involves on a teenagers life in school. By making it realistic, they made the animation much more mature. As you can see yourself. Many people has given low ratings only because of animation which shouldn't be ...

I'm confused is this good or shit?
The review is only of the first episode and I’m intrigued. The art style is really unusual it’s not good by any means of imagination. I fell like everything they do is the opposite of any other anime I’ve seen. It’s slow but I actually want to keep watching. It’s so creepy that I actually like it but it’s so bad that you have to be a masochist like me to watch and like this anime.

    Expectations expectations.
I watched this without reading the manga and I really liked the ambient and rotoscoping technique and I thought it fits that ominous and creepy feeling to that story. However, people were hating this probably because they read the manga, which is shoujo style, and expecting the show to be animated purely based on the manga. You might think the anime is low budget but if you pause and look at the ...

  • Beautifully Disturbing
The first thing that grabbed my attention in this anime was the rotoscoping, and to be honest, I didn't like it. After a few episodes, I couldn't picture the characters drawn any other way. The backround art is amazing, the music in this series is a 10/10, especially the ending theme.

This is one of the most well put together animes I have ever seen, and I am really hoping for a second season.

    Dull, dull, dull, dull
Although I enjoyed the animation style (captured through a technique called rotoscope, I have come to find out), the series is just plain dull. A dull, mostly unlikable protagonist makes poor decisions or allows someone else to make poor decisions for him, and then whines about it in angst for the rest of the episode (or in the case of one major decision, most of the series). The only point of ...

Decent by itself, but compared to the manga, not so good.
Here's the thing. I read the manga first, so my opinion of the show might be bias. However, I must say, the Manga is a MUCH better interpretation of the story IMO. The pacing of the anime is just all over the place, and it ends about a quarter of the way through the story. The ending of the anime shows flashes of things that Kasuga and Nakamura have yet to do, things that are very important in the ...
