    Amazing-Fresh-New-*Must-watch*
Amazing anime in terms of story and art. It reminds me so much of Japanese cities and their people. I can't wait to go back. This anime is certainly for a more adult crowd who love a psychological thriller that is full of reality, suspense, and drama. Sadly, I'm certain that most individuals who rated this anime badly, were expecting quite the opposite...maybe less realistic art, big eyes, ...

    Painfully interesting
I saw this anime at first and figured it would be just another supernatural one. I was wrong. I sat through the first episode through its realism. It strangely horrified me. The combo of the art style followed up by the soundtrack puts a sense of dread within me. No anime has ever done that. Ever. I can't sit through the second episode now because I feel sick inside from the entire premise of the ...

The first anime I've been able to sit through and enjoy in a long time
I'd been completely turned off with the anime fare that's been available the past couple of years (legit translations) and had completely dropped watching any of it, until this one came along. I can see where the problem is where otaku haven't been taking to it: it's a very subtle and complex story of psychological sadomasochism, with extremely mature content that whooshes over the heads of a ...

    Amazing work of art.
I haven't been so excited about a show since Breaking Bad. Flowers of Evil is an atmospheric examination of the dark side of humanity. The rotoscoping style of the series does take a little bit to warm up to, but during scenes of intense emotion it becomes clear why this style of animation suits the story of Flowers of Evil.

I highly recommend Flowers of Evil if you are looking for something ...

Fresh and heavy, an oddly perfect combo!
I remember picking up a copy of the manga at a Barnes & Noble a few years back and thinking "how... why... what?!" It was such a disturbing account of adolescent tribulation that I could barely get through the first volume without grimacing. Of course I wanted more.

Now that the anime is out, I await every Monday with a newfound enthusiasm. The atmosphere carried over well from paper to pixels ...

  • It's nice to have something different
I like lighthearted stuff, I like action stuff, but it's nice sometimes to have something that's just...different. Flowers of Evil is different, and that's a good thing.

I like the artwork, people focus so much on how characters are depicted, but look at the backgrounds, the details....this is really well drawn, and the characters are more...lifelike. The art and characters match well. The ...

I wasn't sure this was for me...
The premise sounded ok...but I wasn't sure it was really what I wanted to watch...my tastes in anime tend to gravitate toward the lighter side...as an escape from the daily grind...

Having finished watching 5 of 13...it is starting to gow on me...I am liking the characters and the artwork is unique among anime today...the animation style is reminiscent of the animated classic "Heavy ...

Approach this with an open mind.
I'm finding that generally speaking, fans of the manga dislike this anime. That is because though the stories are similar(of course), the rotoscoping is the only the only thing separating this adaption from it's source material. Frankly put:

-The pacing is different(the anime being a lot more slowly and oddly paced that than the manga)
-The anime is A LOT darker overall
    -The manga better ...

Macaulay Culkin in "The Good Son".
The Home Alone franchise consisted of movies that made Macaulay Culkin a superstar but have you watched the infamous movie, "The Good Son"? It stars an older torcherous Culkin and ironically reflects the torcher of Macaulay's career and life.

Flowers of Evil is The Good Son's twin sister.

The Good Son features your favorite childhood star, Culkin, doing very mean things to ...

Didn't like the animation at first, but it has grown on me
Having greatly enjoyed the manga, I was really looking forward to this anime. The first episode however made me think that everything was ruined forever. I hated the animation style, it reminded me of cheesy 80s animation like Fire and Ice and Heavy Metal, which while not at all bad, I did not think had a place in anime. 4 episodes in however I have changed my mind, and I actually think that if ...
