Give The Flowers of Evil a Chance
I'll admit that the rotoscoping took a little time to get used to initially, I've grown to enjoy it. In fact, it does make more sense as far as the story.

In the manga version, Nakamura is cute. Even if she was socially awkward, the boys would ignore that based on appearance alone. In the anime version, you get a more realistic look at the characters and its easier to see why she is considered ...

I really like it. Different and unique
This is my first time watching an anime with a different animation. I have to disagree with most people and I must say, it's great that they did this type of animation. Because this anime involves on a teenagers life in school. By making it realistic, they made the animation much more mature. As you can see yourself. Many people has given low ratings only because of animation which shouldn't be ...

I'm confused is this good or shit?
The review is only of the first episode and I’m intrigued. The art style is really unusual it’s not good by any means of imagination. I fell like everything they do is the opposite of any other anime I’ve seen. It’s slow but I actually want to keep watching. It’s so creepy that I actually like it but it’s so bad that you have to be a masochist like me to watch and like this anime.

    Expectations expectations.
I watched this without reading the manga and I really liked the ambient and rotoscoping technique and I thought it fits that ominous and creepy feeling to that story. However, people were hating this probably because they read the manga, which is shoujo style, and expecting the show to be animated purely based on the manga. You might think the anime is low budget but if you pause and look at the ...

Read the Manga and Watch the Anime. Compare.
    * I have read 43 chapters of the manga before I watched the anime. *

I'm here adding my impression of the first episode. Just like I said, I read the manga before watching the anime. I see the tags on crunchyroll and it had horror on it so I wanted to see if it had horror. I read all of the chapters that I could find and I enjoyed it. I couldn't wait to watch the anime. It doesn't have horror ...

  • Dragged Out, Intense
I enjoy the different areas the Anime genre can explore; the stories to be told in this medium can be anything from a cutesy love story to introspective psychological mind game.

Flowers of Evil is the latter, bringing up true desires and feelings compared to what is expected from the world. I wanted to stop watching this anime due to the amount of emotional turmoil it causes but that was ...

  • Looking for a show that makes you question your own humanity? well step right up
First of all, Thank you Crunchyroll for taking this show into your loving arms. Second of all, thanks for introducing me to an amazing manga from this great show. Thirdly, I forgot this was a review so i'll stop gushing. To put it simply, give this show a try, just for the experience alone. You may hate it, you may love it, hell you may be hating it from the first episode, but keep going, not ...

  • Smashing the boundaries of conventional, saturated anime.
This anime is what the market needs. In a time of saturation and being satisfied with the average, 'Flowers of Evil' raises the bar with a unique, rotoscoped style, and a dark, yet real plot. Rather than character development, this anime allows you to get to know the characters, with your opinions on the two main protagonists, Sawa and Takao completely evolving as Takao is pushed by the self ...

  • Emotionally Taxing..
This is the only anime I could even be bothered to review to be honest. It took the second episode to really understand what I was getting into, and by the sixth... Wow.

There are scenes beyond anything ever in anime to this date, emotionally taxing

  • Deeply and disturbingly human!
Aku no Hana is an absolutely thrillingly realistic series, so dark and uncomfortably true its humanity is off-putting to some. I've yet to come across a coming of age series deal with the more negative emotional and complicated aspects of adolescence as well as Aku no Hana.
