Unusual Style, but it works to create a moody feel.
Loved the feel of the anime.

Some reviewers have stated that the style is significantly different from the manga. I understand the disappointment that can follow after your expectations are not met. However, having not read the manga beforehand, I have to say I enjoyed this anime. The backgrounds are superb and the animation, though lacking in detail, shows movement and expressions very ...

    I'm hopeful but unsure
After one episode I found this anime to be disturbing enough to keep me from being bored, which is surprising because very little happens. I also dislike the way the people are drawn, and the way the backgrounds (although stunningly beautiful art) are static and repeated.
However I am reading a different manga by the same author, Oshimi Shuuzou, and really enjoying the psychological pressure put ...

    Expectations expectations.
I watched this without reading the manga and I really liked the ambient and rotoscoping technique and I thought it fits that ominous and creepy feeling to that story. However, people were hating this probably because they read the manga, which is shoujo style, and expecting the show to be animated purely based on the manga. You might think the anime is low budget but if you pause and look at the ...

The title of the show explains everything
I first read the manga before to watch the anime, but there was a part where I couldn't take it anymore, so I stopped my reading. When I saw the anime is released on Chrunchyroll, I thought that maybe it's better so I watched it. The graphic is original. The characters' expression a bit ok. It's similar to the manga so I skipped some eps, but I've noticed that the anime is slower. They put longer ...

I dont care about the animation, it is just too unrealistic.
I love how they without too many words brought so much depths of emotions. I just never understood how he could run away from someone he once adored. I understand that maybe he was just in love with the idea of her. But this "im not worthy" idea is just overused and we all have dark secrets, but come on girls are practically and sometimes literally throwing themselves at you and you just run away ...

A GREAT story with mediocre o poor exicution
OK first this is a GREAT story and is worth wading thorough the problems to get through to the meaty gritty insides.
Watch it for a well written story

    TRY to ignore --
Poor rotoscopic animation ( rotoscoping is great but this is only a poor effort on a difficult process.)

Black outs Yes this has many many minutes of nothing or barely nothing and only audio. This is fine for effect ...

    Uglification is seldom an improvement
And it's not in this case either.

The manga and the collection of poems that this story comes from are both titled "FLOWERS of Evil." That title suggests that for some people beauty has a fascination that outweighs any perceived evil in the heart of its possessor. Search out the manga of this story. Notice that Nakamura-san, the woman who ensnares the MC early on, is very pretty--and very ...

    "Unique" doesn't translate as "good"
If the animators were going for unique and different, they nailed it. But, that doesn't mean that it is good. And in the case of this anime, it is REALLY NOT GOOD.

Being a fan of the Aku No Hana manga, I tried to watch and enjoy this adaptation. I really, truly tried. But, when you get right down to it, this anime is just plain terrible and ultimately unwatchable. From the horrible ...

aku no hana not an good adaptation
rotoscoping is bad for anime and the way it is written so dark gives it a Stephen King to the tenth power feel not anything like the magna. In the magna from the start you get a troubled youth feel to it, just a love triangle of three broken kids. there is the Japanese culture aspect of one bad mistake and your life is over in the story that's hard to get thru but its a good story. but the anime ...

    This is just stupid...
Ok, I'm not even gonna beat around the bush about the awful character designs in the anime adaptation. Let's get to the crux of things and examine the story itself...

I decided to play the critic and marathoned 20+ chapters of this in the manga out of morbid curiosity to see what Aku no Hana fans were fussing about. After all that, I can confirm that this series is just stupid. Insanely stupid. ...
