    Worst, art style, ever
DISCLAIMER! I have not seen the whole show, so i am basing this review off of the Animation/art Style of Episode 1
it is all Rotoscoping animation for the show (please google this if you don't know what it is)
This show completely butchered the Manga art. Do not watch this is you like having nice characters to look at and/or you enjoyed the manga
It takes "no-moe" to a disastrous level. I am ...

    Worst anime ever !!!
just read the review of AmaranthTehDrood and he's totally right, this anime sucks.
At first i thought it was refreshing to see the Rotoscoping animation style , but after a few minutes it really started to suck. There are no facial definitions at a lot of sequences and the animators didn't even bother to sync the voices with the animation (and what i mean by this is that you hear a ...

    What Have They Done?
As a fan of the manga, I'm extremely disappointed with this. What they were trying for is really beyond me. Trying to take the seriousness of the story and follow suit making the characters more realistic? Absolute failure. They don't even come close to Shuzo Oshimi's original design. In fact it appears they forgot how to animate. I would have no real issue with making the characters slightly more ...

Read the Manga and Watch the Anime. Compare.
    * I have read 43 chapters of the manga before I watched the anime. *

I'm here adding my impression of the first episode. Just like I said, I read the manga before watching the anime. I see the tags on crunchyroll and it had horror on it so I wanted to see if it had horror. I read all of the chapters that I could find and I enjoyed it. I couldn't wait to watch the anime. It doesn't have horror ...

Just Skip to the Manga and forget about this
While some might not mind i couldn't stand the animation. I looked up some information and apparently the creator approved of the style regardless if it would leave a bad impression which was his intent. As for the story. It focuses on three main characters. Kasuga is the male lead character and he is a bookworm. His favorite book is called the flowers of evil which he thinks it's a ...

This is an unsettling dark story, in a sh@! stained world.
The manga series Flowers of Evil by Shūzō Oshimi could start its own genre with just how unique it is. It stands out. I feel the anime is looking to do the same and may have accomplished just that. If you like dark/disturbing/psychological series, I would recommend giving this a try.
If you find yourself wanting more it has been published in English by Vertical. ...

Amazing! Must try if you want something different!
I've just watched episode 1. It was fantastic!
Ignore people telling you not to watch it, give it a go.
It ditches typical anime direction for something new and unique. The episode has a pervasive feeling of dread which is reflected extremely well in the art direction and the music.
The rotoscope style is unusual and off-kilter, but it's animated well and brings the mundanity of the setting ...

An Intriguing Experiment that Isolates Fans of the Original Manga
First off, let me say that I am a fan of the original manga series. If you're interested in reading a good psychological, coming-of-age comic, please go buy the "Flowers of Evil" manga series published by Vertical Inc. in North America RIGHT NOW.

Second, as a fan of the source material, I feel frustrated by what the anime adaptation turned out to be. The character designs look horrendous, and ...

And I was looking foreward to this...
I read the manga for this and enjoyed it a lot, and was really looking foreward to the anime and was excited to see it rotoscoped. I was disappointed after watching the first episode. It had low production value, the voices weren't well synced to the animation, it looked awful (in my opinion) and they used the same backgrounds way too many times. This anime could've been really good but they ...

You know how you hope the manga translates well to anime?
So, you know how you hope that the manga translates well to anime, and usually they do a pretty decent job? Well, sadly, that is not the case with Flowers of Evil. Rotoscoping can be done really well, or it can, well... turn out like this. Aside from that, it just didn't ... work. I don't know if I'll bother watching more of this, which is sad, because the manga is interesting!
