I was really going to quit but..
I was totally going to quit this anime but
. Rotoscoping works here and the characters look great. I don't know the whole story but this could really be the best of the season for me.

The art style is the best part of this anime
The art of this anime is the best component. It paints a setting with run-down buildings and old infrastructures. It is realistic. It's symbolic and a representation of the decaying and unsightly human heart.

The characters are very developed. This is a very artistic show, not for audience who only seek superficial entertainment.

It's also refreshing to see an anime that doesn't have random ...

if only the animation is better
well, i guess rotoscoping is good, but rotoscoping here is bad
i mean, at least add a bit more details and make the actions a bit more fluid
and make the character, well, prettier (especially nakamura)
the story is really good though, i've read the manga and i can say that it is a work of art
it is just awesome, u see ppl going mad and their way of thinking is just....off =3=
    i really like ...

  • Heavy and Twisted but Still Realistic
Despite the mediocre ratings I'm glad I gave Flowers of Evil a chance. The story is heavy, mature, and a bit twisted; brave and far-fetched but not unrealistic. The whole time you know what you want to see, but understand from real life why it's not so easy. The art direction and music is on point as well.

  • Flowers of Evil is a breath of fresh air
Flowers of Evil is incredibly unique. Give it a chance! A lot of people are turned off by the rotoscoping, but after a few episodes you realize why this art style is chosen- it synchronizes great with the dark, tense atmosphere and greatly adds to climactic moments throughout the storyline.

This is a very unique anime and a lot of anime viewers are turned off simply because they are too young ...

    Watch this show!!!!!
It may not be action packed, but this is one of the best anime I have ever seen. The art style is something to get used to, but once you do, you realize that it matches the story perfectly. I was hesitant at first because of the art, but by the end of the first episode I literally had chills because of what Takao Kasuga had done and the reaction of the dark, twisted Sawa Nakamura.

    Absolutely Amazing!!!
This has to be one of the most intriguing anime series I have ever watched. Being both dark and twisted with the added effect of the rotorscoping, it all mixes together to create an atmosphere that will send chills down your spine. An excellent series so far and cannot wait for the coming episodes.
I recommend anyone looking for an anime that is different from others to watch Flowers of Evil!!

Clearly not for every Anime fan...
This Anime is not for everyone. It has a very specific target audience. It is for the most part, a real life drama with a LOT of sprinkled metaphor in the series. If you read a lot of books, and prefer social outcast or other points of view story lines you're going to love this series. The whole point of this series the "abnormal", or for everyone to not be the same. The Anime delivers that ...

  • Dark and atmospheric
Flowers of evil is nothing less than a masterpiece. The storytelling reminds me of Natsuo Kirino's best work. Enter it with an open mind even if you don't like the animation at first. The bleak colors and rotorscoping are deliberate artistic choices and really ad to the atmosphere of the story. The pacing may be slow but the characters are real personalities that grow on you. This gives some ...

    Very good, suspensful and traumatic
The show started out slow, but as you REALLY get into it, you realize its very deep and scary. The amount of stress and anxiety this show gives when you watch it is crazy. Mental trauma should be a notable side-effect to watching this.
