Animated Prozac. You could say... bewitching.
Yes, now that the obvious joke is out of the way, this anime shows a ton of promise and heart, centering around (for once) a complete family that just happens to have witches involved.
Similar to the heart and charm of Silver Spoon and Love, Chuunibyo and Other Delusions, this series is already promising a lot of exploration and family humor.
That's what really sets this anime apart. It's not ...

    Charming, absolutely charming.
A warm and fuzzy slice-of-life story about a young witch-in-training. Makoto, our heroine, moves to a new town to continue her training in the witchly arts. Black cat in tow.

If this sounds familiar, you've seen Kiki's Delivery Service. (if you haven't seen Kiki's yet, do so now, you won't regret it) The setting differs (modern day Japan, instead of late 19th century Europe) but most of the ...

    Off to a flying start
Thoroughly pleasant, slow-paced slice of lifer about a teenage witch who leaves cosmopolitan Yokohama to go live with her normal, non-witch relatives in the snowy boondocks of northern Japan. Will she make new friends and learn to fit in, in her new school? It's a light comedy, so that's a given. Friends will be made, obstacles will be overcome, a cute guy will be entranced. Etc. So far so good.

    Super Chillaxing Times
This anime is very low stress and entirely relaxing. I imagine that this is the closest you can get to moving into lazy, rural Japan without actually doing so. This also features a genuinely interesting funny and cute young child character, which I haven't seen in a long time.

Another thing which is a merit, in my opinion, is the lack of any love interest (so far). Then we can focus on the ...

The show where Nothing Happens, and it's brilliant because of it
Flying Witch is a show where nothing happens, and as a result, it's brilliant. There is no huge witch struggle, major conflict, apocalypse, or whatever. You're just watching a bunch of friends and family have a good day and being nice to each other
    Only they're mostly Witches.
The biggest boon I can point to other then the fact that it is Quite Possibly the Coziest thing is it's world ...

    A "bewitching" fantasy comedy
Here is another instant anime favorite. Now I wasn't sure whether to label the series fantasy or comedy. But I think it's a fantasy, slice-of-life series that is similar to the film "Kiki's Delivery Service."

Based on a manga that I never heard of, this series about Makoto Kowata a witch-in-training for leaves Yokohama to Aomori with her black cat Chito, because it is an old tradition ...

What can I say? I am drawn to what I enjoy.
Just really felt like writing a review, I've been slacking.

Anyways lets talk about flying witch. Right away the first thing you will notice is the immersion. Put it full screen in 1080P and you are in for one hell of a viewing experience. From the very detailed scenic shots to smooth character animation, your mind is simply taken away and placed into the heart of story.

    Not a lot actually ...

    Loving Flying Witch so far!
Each episode is a great combo of everyday anime and a witchy surprise. A great refreshing take on witches that reminds me a lot of Kiki's Delivery Service. I'm starting to really look forward to this every week. It's sweet, genuine, funny, and magical!

Charmingly, Surprising and funny! A must for cat lovers!
This anime is great! I don't really do reviews, but I'd love to see more! It's like a Kiki Delivery anime, but more laid back life (non hectic) with witches mixed in with non witches and their normal day routines. It's absolutely funny to watch the witches and their sensei cats talking to each other and knowing so much. The main witch moves away at a certain age and moves in with relatives and ...
