The stakes and threats didn't get established anywhere close enough to feel real, and then that ending was just so terrible. I thought it could at least salvage itself if a certain meeting of a singer and another character didn't take place as the main character wasn't there for it to happen as a consequence of what he did, but nope!

Plot holes? Unpossible! Yeah, I wondered about that meeting, too. That really bothered me.

I liked Charlotte, but like you, I was not a fan of the resolution. It felt forced. I'd rather have a sad ending that makes sense than a happy ending at any cost.

Big Order - if you watched it no need for me to explain
Magical Warfare - I state it all in my review
Blood + - I kept watching it thinking it would get better; it doesn't

The last episode of Charlotte could easily have been a whole season. Amazing how much was shoehorned into that show.

That's a lot of it right there. It's much the same problem I thought Angel Beats had (albeit with arguably better results): a very ambitious premise that didn't have room to breathe.

If I don't like it after a few episodes, then I just stop watching.

I don't regret watching too much, usually, if I don't like it after a few episodes, I just stop.

One exception is Death Note, which started off good, but about halfway through they seemed to run out of ideas, or ambition, or both. What a squandering of a good premise! I basically hate watched the last several episodes and was glad to reach the end. The only reason I kept watching was because I was hoping it would get better again at the end, but that didn't happen.

My husband, on the other hand, hate watched the entire second season of Free! and constantly complained about Haru being a whiny little shit. I'm sure he regrets watching it.

I read the Death Note Manga and really liked it, then I watched the show and was not that impressed.

Funny story. This leads directly into one of my picks for "I regret watching this". If Her Flag Breaks sums up how it's going to end:

Unfortunately, I have no one to blame but myself for this, as I came into know that the ending was a trainwreck and was curious about bad it could be.

The SAO Alfheim arc definitely qualifies. I didn't like Aincrad and would have dropped the show when that arc ended, but I wanted closure on the Asuna/Kirito relationship. Oh god, that was a mistake.

Hmmm, you might have helped me dodge a bullet, then. If Her Flag Breaks is in my queue (I have a thing for weird takes on the romcom setup), but I was on the fence about diving in or not.

Aku no Hana - the rotoscope was so.....bad. The last episode was too much of a mess, idk what they were going for in that. And, it didn't even have the benefit of the second half of the story of the manga, which gives a happy ending. It was just...torture to watch with no pay off. All the awkward, obscene things with that horrid animation style completed without the happy ending. It's just, not fun.

Oreimo - I have to agree with this. I really liked it back when the first anime aired, I'm not really sure why. I have the four volumes of the manga + I have an Oreimo themed Japanese/English study book (to help learn the other language). I tried going back to it a while ago and it was ok in portions, but every time the show hinted at a relationship between the guy and...well almost anyone I just cringed so bad.The more it built towards the relationship with the sister, the worse I felt about it. I'm kind of embarrassed I liked it so much years ago.

Loveless - This kind of pertains more to the manga, but the anime as well. I still follow the manga and I like parts of the story. But, the art style lulled me into forgetting how young the main character is. I tried to go back and rewatch the anime and was like "No way, Ritsuka isn't a literal child is he?" and I reread the manga from the start and sure enough he was. I first got into is as a child and I was being abused by adults, which I think really got me hooked into it. But, now I'm like "uhhhh...this isn't good??"

Freezing - It had a great premise! I really was excited to watch it! But every episode was just....bullying and nudity. I'd get really embarrassed watching it. Like, I turned it off at numerous points cuz I just felt like a complete perv watching it at points and it made me uncomfortable. And the alien plot didn't even become relevant until like....the last episode? It was ridiculous.
