Kancolle

These anime were the ones that made me realize that some are just an utter waste of time. Before them I knew some were better than others, but I didn't know the extent of mediocrity in the industry

Hmm, not really that many animes i regret watching, mostly just some shows for their complete lack of any sort of resolution because they end half way into the books :p

Oreimo though, while i didn't really hate the ending so much, i never really get the whole incest thing from it, mabye i'm just missing something.
Or it's because i read the Oreimo:Kuroneko manga first perhaps.

i see it more as the sister being afraid of loosing her brother again, after they finally reconnected after several years of never really talking. I did hate the ending of the anime though, but thats because i felt it was so completly unresolved, never watched the ovas though.

But again, that might be the manga influencing me, as i felt it was properly explained there....who know :p

On a side note, the manga had such a plesant sugar coated tied in a ribon ending that i just ignore the anime anyways. ^_^

I would've, but Digibro and Best Guy Ever happened to choose it as an average series to follow, and the results were entertaining enough to keep me watching the train wreck unfold.

Diabolic Lovers

I waded through two seasons of this waiting for the girl to wise up and leave, or somehow turn the tables on all those guys who were abusing her. We never did really find out why her father told her to go to that house. The vampires were abusing her just as much the end as they were at the beginning.

Pupa - I didn't even try watching this one. Every review that I read on this said it was the absolutely worst anime of the year that it was aired.

The problem with this forum topic is that there are variations in not liking an anime. In my mind these are:
1. The show is watchable, but he ending is terrible (for example- in a few anime everyone on earth dies)
2. The show is watchable, but the the ending isn't really an ending.
3. The show doesn't really appeal to you in the first place
4. The show has a decent plot, but you have to wade through tons of gore to watch it (i.e. Berserk and Muv-Luv Total Eclipse)
5. The show is so bad that you stay away from it as far as you can (The aforementioned Pupa)

Another example of a good anime with a poor ending is Neon Genesis Evangelion. Everyone seems to love the show, but I think there are up four or five variations where the only thing they change are the endings:
a. In the original version the studio ran out of money and the last episode was all line drawings of Shingi having a nervous breakdown
b. In another version in the last episode Asuka is piloting her Eva and a bunch of Angels come down, pin the EVA to the ground and start eating it. (Death & Rebirth)
c. I think there was another ending in there (The End of Evangelion)
d. I have something called the platinum version with still another ending which is pretty good
e. The remake of Neon Genesis Evangelion in OVA format is pretty good, but you will notice that they still haven't put the final episode out after a number of years

Good points.

1. is definitely a problem. Yuki Yuna made me angry by the end.
2. is less so. Sweetness & Lightning annoyed me for just stopping without anything resolving, but No Game, No Life pointed the way to the end, and that was all I needed.
3. is unlikely to be a problem, unless the show does a bait and switch e.g. Tsugumomo.
4. is just a bad show (from your POV) with some good bits.
5. is 3 or 4 with forewarning.

Got to be Oreimo - I didn't actually know what type of genre it was and ended up watching it without even reading the synopsis.

Eromanga Sensei wasn't great either - dropped it straightaway.

Boy do I regret it.....

S&L was the anime that finally got me to start reading manga, and for that reason among others. The story is playing the long game, and while I think it's pretty clear how things are going to go, "the long game" doesn't lend itself well to the anime side of things.

I don't have any regrets about the anime that I have watched.

But I do have a long list of anime that I bailed on after 3-5 episodes due to being overwhelmed by pure apathy.

Oooohh I wanna get this off my chest:

I regret watching 'Chivalry of a Failed Knight' , this was the most superficial relationship I've seen. I don't know why they like each other... IT'S A ROMANCE for goodness sake.

You wouldn't think that a show that refers to the male lead as a 'failure' would be a damned Mary Sue, I abandoned the show after episode 9 they shied away from a sex scene. Relating to my previous comment and that scene, this was just insulting to me.

Akame Ga Kill, Rokku braves of the six Flowers i think is was called.

Akame Ga Kill's ending shit all over itself, erasing any goodwill it had from me at then.

Rokku, basically spent 12-13 episodes doing absolute jackshit.

Eromanga-sensei. If for no other reason that's it's not healthy for me to hate-watch a show like that.
Rokka Braves of the Six Flowers also managed to do nothing but piss me off by the end of the season.

Yuri on ice.

I don't get the appeal. At all. It was completely rushed. Character progression was ok at best. Even the routines were the same throughout, except "this time im going to try and do this trick'. Just a very boring anime.

I guess it didn't try and frame sexuality as feminine or masculine, but that doesn't make it entertaining...or even thought provoking. Especially considering how shallow and absurd the relationships were.

I don't know why I watched the whole thing, but in terms of a sports anime, romance, drama, etc.; there's plenty of vastly superior anime in those categories.

I'm trying to figure out who it appeals to, and it's just for people who want to see more social acceptance of pansexual romance, and maybe figure skating fans? I don't know. Either way, it's one of those shows that I feel people only liked because they wanted to associate themselves with the moral message of the show. You know the "I support these lifestyles, look at how progressive and considerate I am"...completely ignoring the flaws in the process of trying to project that self image.

Personally id say Gamers, the anime started off pretty good and besides the fact that the main protagonist being the dense type who doesn't know that the girl he looks up to likes him and the fact that as you progress through the series the characters misunderstanding for other characters increases and becomes complex like in a game where you get more and more quests but you don't complete any .

The part which made me regret watching this was how it ended off. Without talking too much of the anime its like the first 11 episodes (12 episode series) was building up to nothing though i can see how they would make a second season based on the last episode but the chances are low.
