Either Fancy Lala, Ultramaniac, Mao-chan, or Bottle Fairy back when they were still at the library. I was 4 or 5, so...

Oh, and even back then I never watched Dragonball. Was disgusted by the art.

Astroboy.... in black and white, around 1965.!!

A bit later there was also Rainbow Sentai Robin (Rainbow Squadron Robin) (1966) and Pāman(1967)

Mexican TV had several animes at that time... just they were still not called "anime" but " caricaturas japonesas".

Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim. I really fell in love with that show, and that along with Bleach sparked my love of the medium.

well im just going to say Dragonball Z but im sure that is false given how many cartoons I watched as a kid which most likely had anime mixed in.

Getting back to the 90's... i saw the ones shown in Mx TV, like dragon ball, ranma, sakura cardcaptor

Now, when i returned to anime, like 3 years ago, the first 'modern' anime that i saw was jigoku shoujo

The oldest memory I have of watching anime (But not knowing it was) is Kiki's Delivery Service, I used to have a movie rental store on my block and choose it as a reward for My first week of kindergarten. I started to get in Hayao Miyazaki's work and started to watch Totoro, Spirted Away, The castle in the sky, Ponyo and Princess Mononoke. I still remember in 3rd grade I would talk about his films and no one knew what I was talking about. I learned that 90s films weren't up to date in the classroom and gave up my anime watching. Later on I got Netflix in the 6th grade and saw the categories . "Anime" was listed as one and to my curiosity brought me to the term I never knew for a about a decade. I watched Attack on Titan first and was mesmerized by the plot and animation. I remember watching a similar style like in Pokemon and DBZ. I really enjoyed it and wanted more. I turned to Funimation at first in the 7th grade because a as a new comer to anime I wasn't very enthusiastic about reading the subtitles. Later I found that Crunchyroll had a variety of anime but I wasn't going to pay for the subscription along with Funimation. I turned to pirating cites and didn't like the quality and timing of it. So I cancelled my subscription of Funimation and got Crunchyroll the summer of this year. I started to learn that the subs were better and got use to reading them. Im now a BHA, Cowboy Bebop and Silent voice fan.

Honestly, don't know what was the first anime I ever watched, it was probably DBZ or Pokemon in passing. But I do remember that the first anime that I ever watched seriously was Trigun and then Cowboy Beebop.

Technically I suppose Battle of the Planets, but the first unbutchered anime was probably either Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo or Mobile Suit Gundam Wing; whichever was on first when I discovered Toonami. All 4 were on that night, but can't remember the order! What an introduction Toonami was!!!
