1. Get a treadmill and point it at a blank wall.
2. Put up a flat screen HDTV on said blank wall. Doesn't have to be too big, just big enough to see it.
3. If said HDTV cannot connect directly to your smartphone, get something like a Chromecast.
4. Get a subscription to your favorite anime service (I like Crunchyroll and Funimation).
5. Walk on the treadmill 60 minutes at 3.5 mph (or faster!). Be sure to use 5 minutes of slow walking before and after to give you a good warm up and cool down. (So, total of 70 minutes on the treadmill).
6. Watch anime while walking on treadmill. You can usually get in 3 episodes that are 24 minutes or less if you skip through the beginning and ending credits. (If you just got to watch the beginning and endings, just stand on the treadmill and finish watching the third episode!)
7. Most importantly, do it every day! It's an awesome way to get your exercise without giving up your anime watching time.

I've been doing this since May and have lost 10 pounds so far. I feel great!

Or make a game out of it
For every X trope, at teh end of the episode I will do X push-ups
And Y crunches for Y tropes
and so on and so on

If you want stuff to do while watching, planks are pretty good.

That is a solid strategy for "working out" without going too far out of your comfort zone. Though if it were me i would substitute the treadmil fora stationary bike or an eliptical machine so you dont wear down you knees.

i wouldn't recommend using a treadmill. they are expensive and make a lot of noise, and not really necessary for those who prefer to exercise indoors. doing cardio for 1-2 anime episodes for 5-6 days a week should be enough for many, and one should also take into account their limits. the key is exercising at a regular pace, as op already said.

Lol? I guess if you live inside a house full of people who need the house to be mute.
The treadmill is fine. It's not too much money.

the cheapest treadmills of questionable quality is around $150 on Amazon, while some go for $1000+
expensive in the sense that you only need you, your motivation and a mat. nothing fancy.

treadmill itself makes a lot of noise. you can still listen to anime of course, but the difference between watching anime while treadmill is on and off is night and day.

I don't do any of those, I don't diet and I exercise every other day. sometimes once a week is a cardio workout, otherwise it's leisure playing outside on my swing or something. I devote my time to what is called a life style change, I don't eat much processed foods, I eat lean meats, fruits and vegetables whereas I eat the bad foods in moderation. to each's own I suppose.

Eat healthy. You cannot maintain your changes if you stop working out and keep eating bad.

I would say that you should just suck it up and not watch anime for the 50 to 60 minutes you work out. Watching anime can cause your form the suffer even on stuff like a stair machine or an elliptical.

Treadmill powered TV. The more you run, the more you get to watch anime.

Do a mixture of calisthenics, push ups, crunches, planks and, pull ups (if possible), in between shows or commercial breaks. I suppose you could do simple squats or dips, slowly, while whatever you are watching without becoming too distracted. Cardio is good exercise, but it's not always enough for significant weight loss and a treadmill can be very expensive/impractical for most at home. A person will yield far better results from simple strength training exercises opposed to just running on a treadmill nonstop, happens very often is most gyms.

I like OP's 1st suggestion LOL. If u like set the treadmill to a comfortable walking pace while watching anime on a flat screen directly in front, I think you wouldn't even notice you're walking? It depends though, I guess?
