it actually have the best smartphone camera on the market, in theory rivaling professional cameras. it can record 4K video at 60 fps - a breakthrough so-to speak to smartphone camera. from what i see, even most cameras on the market only record 4K at 30fps, and those who do offer 60fps, they cost way over $1000. expensive? yes, but so are 4K 60fps cameras (see my previous post).

4K for a 6-ish in phone ? 60fps ? is it just me of with each new phone coming out they tend to brag about the camera ? Samsung new phone also has the best smartphone camera (or so they claimed)..

can people tell the difference between 1440p-1800p and 4K ??

Samsung's only record at 30fps.

edit: by the by, Pixel 2 is coming soon. will be interesting to see how the camera stacks up compared to iPhone 8 / X.

I really don't get the whole trend of people buying the new versions of phones when the previous one came out less than a year ago. There's never really anything huge and amazing that changes with phones for at least 3-4 years, so I'd rather spend my money on something else. I got my first phone in 2004 and since then I've only had a total of about 4-5 phones and never really felt the need to go out and blow $400+ on a phone. My current phone was only about $100, but has pretty much the same stuff that a $400+ phone has, just cheaper materials for the back and stuff and works amazingly and I know this thing will last me for the next 4-6 years unless something happens to it, maybe longer, we'll see.

$100? you have one of those BLU phones?

I bought my Nexus 6 32GB for $200 from Amazon on black Friday of 2015. I'm happy with it. I'll upgrade when the battery will no longer hold any charge or the screen died!!

phones, clothes, cars, etc.. things that people can show off so some of them tend to livE the life of the rich even though they are eating instant noodles behind closed door on a daily basis

new article from CR about this-- glad to see apple phone finally going OLED and getting close to 500ppi

I don't really think anything about it. We live in a wonderful time when people can buy whatever they want. I certainly won't be getting one, though.

Pretty sure my my S8 does more or the same and its cheaper and cooler.
It's already been proven that Iphone X is still behind Android so honestly you are just wasting $1000 on a inferior more expensive product.
Apple is trying to play catchup but there new overly priced phone is way behind alot of smartphones it's just "new" for apple it's not anything new for people who don't use obnoxious apple products.

A ZTE zmax pro. Downside, the back doesn't open, so I can't ever really replace the battery, but everything else is pretty good for what I use it for (mostly texting, youtube, mobile games etc) and it actually has storage, unlike my previous phone that could only fit 1 app until the app got a couple updates lol

It's an overpriced hipster piece of shit status symbol. "Look look, hay can you see the apple symbol on my phone. I know that'z the moast stylish thing about my phon but , it is an i phone. Did you notice the apple logo?". No headphone jack. Shit audio, i tunes, it has a 2nd hand samsung display, no adaptive audio, no fingerprint sensor.....

On that last i have to say the placement of the fingerprint sensor on my s8 plus seemed 1/2 assed at first but it works for me. I have a belt holster case combo and it's almoast magical how smooth it is to unlock it with the fingerprint sensor as i grab my phone.

I also only paid $600 for my s8plus.

Oh i forgot to mention dex. As i own alot of premium android software including kingsoft office pro. The ability to drop my phone into the dex and use it like a pc is priceless.

it's common for phones now a day. You can not replace the battery so easily anymore. Samsung removed the expandable storage as well a few years ago but they got a lot of backslash for it so they put it it back!! but we still can't replace the battery like the old samsung phones
I have Galaxy S3 and S5, I think you can just open the back and put in a new battery. You can extend the life of your phone by just replacing the battery.

I can't just open the back and replace the battery for my Nexus 6 though :/ I have to use a heat gun to do it. I heard some of these phone companies even welted the battery to the phone internal frame so you can just remove it anymore-- They want you to buy a new phone instead of just replacing the battery and continue to use the current phone

Yeah, my 6 Plus is still working fine. Honestly, if there was a way to get iMessage on Android, I wouldn't have my 6 Plus, and I like the memory expandability of Samsung.

for all those saying samsung has the tech way before. the catch is Apple made that tech better and faster. PS Android is shit.
