Someone's been watching Re:Creators, methinks XD
Honestly, if there were worlds where I could be an awesome warrior/mage with powers that don't exist..... then warp me the hell over.

I think the mistake you guys are making is your definition of a dimension.

Now I am not a scientist, nor have I studied physics, I have only read a few books on the matter and that was quite a few years back.

But when you guys are talking about a different dimension with fantasy elements, you are imagining a scenario that looks very much like our 3 dimensions of space and 1 dimension of time world.

There of course may be millions of other dimensions, we just probably do not know about them.

But they would be so incomprehensible to us they would not look and act anything like our world.

The way dimension is used is more meant in terms of measurement. Not as it is being used now, as in whole other worlds.

I of course must repeat I am not a scientist, but from what I've read that's what I understand.

We can't even live with ourselves without trying to blow each other up.

How in the hell could there be any possible sign of an alternate reality.

There is no chance that there is, or ever will be. We haven't even come close to mastering our own world, if anything we need to step it up; it's getting a little pathetic.

I am all for chance, but the reality we live in is as good as it gets, at least for your lifetime.

This shouldnt discourage you, it should help you realize the world you want to show everyone

People can believe what they want to believe, but the fact is, we grow old and we die with our thoughts, our life and its journey. trying to believe in an alternate reality to actually exist is selfish. In your mind it can be possible, because anything can be possible if you truly believe it.

Only the world can see what you see, the world cannot see what you want the world to believe is true

True or false, right or wrong, ideas have meaning to us, and ideas have meaning to others. It only depends on the mind you own, and the mind you stand by

This question is partially answered in Superstring and M theories of astrophysics.

The possibility of alternate universes is one implication of solving Einstein's field equations in certain geometries of spacetime; specifically, when solving them for the area around a rotating black hole, as well as what may happen after you pass that black hole's event horizon. Superstring theory, for example includes something called a cauchy horizon, which acts as a singularity inside the black hole. If you ever managed to survive entering a black hole and make it inside the cauchy horizon, you may be able to ride the black hole like an elevator that only goes up. You might choose to exit a white hole (basically the exact opposite of a black hole) in another universe, but you'll never be able to return to the universe you came from in the first place.

As for the laws of physics in the universe where you come out, we have no way to know what they would be like. We can never have 2 way communication between these universes because the only connection is through black/white holes. It's one-way communication, at best.

I should mention that white holes are purely theoretical. Although they're predicted by general relativity, we've never actually seen one.

Quantum mechanics also provides a possibility for alternate realities due to time travel (Many Worlds Theory) but it's a bit of a stretch to say that the laws of physics would change so drastically as to allow Lina Inverse to run around casting Dragon Slaves.

White holes = big bangs turning into our universe? And every lack hole in ours is a portal (one way) to other universes (white holes).

Just a thought possibility

It's not silly. I like to think about things like that from time to time, too.

For example:

In a world where everything we know as fantasy exists alongside science, to the point that dragons are the norm, gods and fairies are real, and magic is taught alongside science, what does that world consider fantasy? What would be their fairy tales and boogeymen?

I know it would be highly dependent on the physics of that world, what's impossible vs possible, and their fears and wishes; but, I'd like to know what exactly they would pick up in a bookstore and look at as fantasy when magic, dragons, and other things like that already exist alongside cars, planes and cellphones.

That is completely possible. Nothing silly at all.

It is a valid question, and one that i have often entertained. It would be rather amazing if it got that specific, but it is possible, given the amount of possible dimensions proposed.

No problem qualeshia3.

Honestly, I hope there's a universe out there that allows for the existence of things like magic and fantasy creatures. Preferably this universe. I mean, we don't know everything about our universe yet so why not?

I've always believed in parallel and the multiverse, I feel we truly are infinite here, that our decisions spark a break in the line and deja vu can sometimes come about in the process because we're crossing lines with said moments in time. science is still in it's infant stage, thanks to the 5th century destruction of several steps forward, we're having to regain what we've lost. so, who knows what's out there left undiscovered, we just have to discover it.

I KNOW that there is a reality beyond this one.

There's no proof of that crap. There's just one world and that's this one. Get involved in it.
