What do YOU really think of the alt right?
Posted 9/15/17 , edited 9/15/17
My turn: I think they're certainly loud and opinionated , some of their thought content like censorship concerns I can sympathize with, but im not afraid of antifascist groups, sorry. Thats kind of paranoid af and pathetic contrivance, real but exaggerated a bit? Meh., just i have real life concerns and think its all bullshit. On both sides (lol).

Discuss!

'To religious for my liking, don't agree with their Ideals based around education, but I do agree with their ideals on small government. 'both sides fail on deal with foreign leaders, other countries, both in the political field and security. I agree with them wen it comes to protecting historical relics, but disagree with their lack of inherence to Science. Agree with the right to carry and own any type of gun. I disagree with religion in are political system, are pledge, and are money.

When a masturbatory internet echo chamber starts leaking out it's own disdain for the rest of the world, and certain media outlets decide that's a more lucrative customer base than editorial crackpots.

I think their ideas largely hinge on manufactured solutions to complicated issues that don't understand the problem complexity. It's not that they are wrong necessarily, but they also arent right. They are pushing ideas that scare people. Maybe the interpretation is wrong from the left. But if enough people feel fear maybe it's because the right is angry and aggressive because they have felt threatened for a long while.

I think that when it comes down to it communication is failing. If people cant voice concerns objectively without emotion and bias then we can't coexist.

I don't really know what the 'alt-right' is.

I think that there are too many individual groups who get lumped together under this moniker to make a generalist opinion. The alt-right isn't just one big organization. It's all the white supremacist groups, religious conservative groups, and militias that people have just started calling "alt-right" for convenience sake, but doing do oversimplifies the situation and makes it harder to deal with the individual groups, since you're no longer looking at them as separate entities when they don't necessarily have the same agendas.

I don't agree with a lot of the ideas.

They're paranoid about a lot of stuff

I guess they speak with their emotions and not logically

Giving an opinion of a group without having any definitive idea of what said group really is doesn't help foster any constructive conversations. The 'alt right' is as equally identifiable as 'fake news' is at this point. Depending on who you ask the definition will vary.

I personally dislike the alt-right (at least the really extreme ones) Also, my personal definition of "alt-right" is any conservative who is racist, sexist, and/or homophobic.

iam down with them. I will ride with them when the shit goes down.

Iam against them really though as far as the kkk sorts. By that i mean iam against the extremists. I mean they're not as annoying as the white anti whites , the far left, but they're pretty darn evil and stupid.

Surely you're talking about the far left? To whom common sense and logic and reality dose not apply AT ALL?
All they do is speak and act out emotions.

To me, it seems like it's largely a term that gets slapped on people who use conservative stances as a flimsy justification for doing bad things to people. It's the standard label for people on that side of the political spectrum (or at least, the American version of it) that want to force their views on others and don't welcome opposing discourse. The counterpart of the groups referred to as the "regressive left".

But that's just from own experience with the term. I've never really seen it in any context other than "this group is being horrible in a way that echoes warped conservative sentiments". Likely, that's quite far from its actual definition, but I'm seriously put off by how angry people get when this sort of thing comes up, so I mostly stay away from the topic.
