I mean I assumed from the get-go that it would be off-brand Free!, but it somehow surpassed off-brand in terms of it not containing anything good or meaningful from the OG. :/

In brighter news, Fall 2017 lineup is looking pretty good thus far. :D

I am in agreement with you hard to like the characters and no definition who main character is? I would like to think CR already knew about this stinker and let Amazon have it?

Seriously though. You know an anime is bad when your favorite character is the main character's dog XD

Maybe the people at Crunchyroll have psychic powers that let them know when an anime is gonna be a flop?? Would make sense why they didn't try to fight for it...

Huh, your expectations for next season sure must have taken a....Dive!!, huh?

I hope you are not joking about his expectations because I think the anime is good. It was one of the reasons I got Anime Strike (the other is the Ballroom Anime).

It is a pun acknowledging their dislike, and how it may apply to next season. The pun came first, the context came second. I never watched Dive!, so I cannot say if I would find it well made.

They do not like Dive!!, and that is all I commented on.

Sorry for my puns though. I would make one about Ballroom, but I do not want to drive you up the...Walltz.

I know it was a ton of puns but seriously Dive!! and Ballroom are very good so you should watch "Dive!!." $8 (for Prime video) and $5 (for Anime Strike) and you can watch 'em legally and your wallet won't take a "HUGH Cannonball Dive!!".

Can't decide between Berzerk or AoT. Berzerk didn't even get 3 episode. Hell, it didn't get two.

AoT I watched, but it was just sooooo meh and overhyped.

There's been only one anime this year (so far) I'd consider a huge disappointment and that's Welcome to the Ballroom. I wasn't really hyped for it at first. I expected beautiful animation and good music but I'm not a big sports anime fan and it looked like Ballroom would be nothing more than a typical sports anime.
But then the first two episodes were shown before the actual preview and people praised the shit out of them. So, of course, I expected something great now. And then I saw the first episode...
Stills, close-ups and bland music. Even the OP had bad animation in it. The rest was what I originally expected: the usual sports anime characters and a predictable plot.
Don't get me wrong, I understand why people who like the genre are fans. The first episode wasn't horrible. To me it was boring and the visual presentation could have been a lot better but I doubt this anime was made for someone like me.
The only reason why it was such a huge disappointment to me was because so many people called it a masterpiece, AotY, the most beautiful thing they've seen in awhile and that's just not what Ballroom is.

Worst anime: Yamishibai season 4. I assume I don't have to explain why .

Kinda confused really... says for fall/winter of 2017(we are now in the end of CRs summer) so it would seem everyones choices dont really count? Or is this just of 2017 as a whole? If we are just discussing 2017 as a whole then here are my personal disappointments

Hajimete no Gal Where do I even start. I decided to watch this thinking it would be a light hearted comedy with perhaps some ecchi content. What I got after 4 episodes was what I felt was super awkward scenes, almost hentai in nature with almost no story to it. I mean I suppose the intent was that the guys first girlfriend is the the girl of his dreams but this show had the potential to be.... more HAHA funny and not so much OMG... type of funny if that makes sense. Also disappointing that ecchi has become the dominant theme of some anime instead of something that adds humor to the main plot. I suppose I am simply asking for too much.

Isekai Shokudou Not sure why but I had great hopes this was going to be another take on something like shokugeki no soma. However as of episode 7 it seems like its nothing more then a mismatched collection of stories of people eating. A show that is simply meant to be candy though I feel it lacked even there. From episode one you get the sense of some story or plot but it seems like that's about where it ends. The mismash of stories that follow it could easily be taken for different stories all together were it not for the restaurant and staff being in every episode. Add to the fact the show didn't even discuss ingredients or how the dishes were made... and I feel as though the show was meant to kill time in between other shows. This show had the potential and hype to be something great, yet it just didn't want to commit to being more then eye candy. All in all I felt really annoyed I even invested time in this show

Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2 Now first off let me say I don't read manga so all I had to go was the season 1. This season felt as though it was written by a different author who was given a 30 second synopsis of what the show was about. After only a half dozen episodes it felt like main characters(Erin/Mikasa) were kinda shoved off to the side and the shows principal story and goals somehow not only derailed but set sail from wrong side of the planet. Now I know there is a lot of die die hard AoT fans out there who saw no issue from the show. However when talking with those who I work with the genuine feeling is the second season felt exaggerated or somehow rushed even to the point of flipping the whole shows premise upside down. Yes its called a plot twist, however this didn't feel like well written plot twist. No, this felt like slipshod writers forced to make something when they were out of ideas but the previous season made too much money to ignore.

On a side note I actually enjoyed eromanga sensei. It was light hearted and fun. The ecchi part of it was tastefully done and the show never really crossed any lines for me. The brother did a great job of trying to keep things platonic up to the very end(to the poiint sometimes I wonder how dense could he be). This wasn't a show I thought I should think too much about but I found it enjoyable.

On the other hand... Tenshi 3p.... started off very innocent had a couple of puns and some questionable situations however I felt like it managed to keep things somewhat comedic, and inspiring. That is until I just watched ep.11 in which the show veered off into what I call the "danger zone" but I am hopeful the show will recover.

Interesting. I suppose i have to list my choices. Since i'm looking from my MAL, they are not in "order" (winter, spring, etc. but i guess it doesn't matter. Here:

Clockwork Planet: This could have been a great one but i have some complains to make. See the actual thread, my share is there.

Idol Incidents: I just want to forget about this since there wasn't too much good. Nothing else to say.

One Room, Room Mate and Nora, Princess, and Stray Cat: By far the worst short animes for this year.

The Reflection: Why am i still watching this? I have no idea, athough i watch it when playing something, just to avoid wasting too much time. So anyway, the things i don't like are the animation and plot. Need i say more?

Classroom of the Elite: It's not the worst of the bunch but in my opinion, it's starting to drop the ball.

Gamers: Same as the above one but since i've made this far, i might as well finish it. I still like the game references, though.

In Another World With My Smartphone: And then there's this. I don't hate it or anything but it has some stuff i personally don't like. And let's not forget how this started. Just... wow. I'll sum it up once it ends.

Action Heroine Cheer Fruits: What can i say? I decided to give it a shot but after five episodes, i dropped it. Mainly because i got bored and got no idea what's going on.

My First Girlfriend is a Gal: *sigh* Where do i begin? Only needed one episode and i dropped it. Guess the reasons?

Honorable mention (good one):

Hand Shakers: Many see this one as thrash but me? No, i actually enjoyed it. Just picked this for some honorable mention for some good ones.

There. As usual, my personal opinion.

Restaurant to Another World. I usually enjoy food related anime and I was expecting more from this. I don't hate it but when it's not talking about food I find it boring. There's some okay episodes but there's also some very bad ones. This makes me miss Food Wars & Sweetness & Lightning.

You know, I loved season one. Then years went by, life happened, season two finally came out. I watched the first episode, could not for life of me remember why I gave a damn, and bailed. I don't know if the show got worse, or I changed, or if it was just too long a gap.

yeah, i think the buildup of the hype for the second season was so long that it was almost impossible for it to even get close to living up to it. They simply waited too long with releasing it and as a result many will have been disappointed because their expectations were unrealistically high.

I actually liked Scum's Wish ... first half. Then it kind of jumped the shark.

Disappointing: Attack on Titan Season 2. I was expecting so much more to happen. But NOTHING freaking happened. God I got bored watching it.

Aoyama-Kun: Seriously .... I don't know what this anime tried to be. It had it's comedic moments, but it was just ... all over the place.

Confusing: There is a tie here. Alice & Zouroku and Sagrada Reset. I watched both of these, and pretty much said "What the hell happened?" after everything was done.

Surprising Winners: ACCA, Atom the Beginning, and Welcome to the Ballroom. Yea I know this is about disappointing anime, but I'm throwing in anime I didn't expect to like, but then BAM, it threw a curveball. Did not see that ending coming from ACCA. Atom, I wish was a little longer. Ballroom, holy crap. I marathoned the first four episodes, and something clicked. I remember originally hating the OP, but by the end of the series, I was dancing to it (well .. trying to).

Forgettable: Seiren. Watched it. Don't even remember what it's about. Is that the anime that tried to be like Amagami SS but failed hard?

Dropped: Handshakers, Rewrite Season 2, eldlive. Just no.

Must agree with this. It reminds me too much of Prometheus, poses more questions than it answers. The weird religious cult Ymir got roped into...the fact that they were all executed. What the heck Bertholdt and Reiner want with Eren, Christa and Ymir.

There were so many times I wanted Eren to just shut the heck up with all his raging and find out what Bertholdt and Reiner were after.

In Dune, when Mohiam was testing Paul's humanity, she told him

"You've heard of animals chewing off a leg to escape a trap? There's an animal kind of trick. A human would remain in the trap, endure the pain, feigning death that he might kill the trapper and remove a threat to his kind."

This is what I thought about Eren. Listen to them, pretend you are on their side and find out their plan so that you have leverage in the future.

I complained a bit about Masamune-kun's Revenge. The premise was intriguing, although quite similar to "Great Expectations". There were too many dangling plot devices and unless they plan another season, too many loose ends to have ended it where they did. I will say that I hope there is another season to tie up loose ends.

Sin Nanatsu no Taizai, managed to get three episodes in out of curiosity for the human girl, but... I gave up.
Hand Shakers was awful, I agree. I managed to get all the way through the show out of curiosity because I love stories but I thought it would be something different based on the plot. :'(
I dropped The Saga of Tanya the Evil a couple of episodes in cause the main character was such an a**.
Rewrite I liked, but it's my least favorite of KEY's works.

Agree on Alice & Zoroku.
