Hello,

so I usually just use Crunchyroll for anime and some other websites for manga since there is not that much variety here. But anyway, because there is no queue function I decided to download the app for reading manga. I only have Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou and Tales of Wedding Rings as bookmarks but randomly checking the app I noticed that there already are new chapters out even though I did not get a notification on my phone (and checking the forums it seems that the newest chapter is already five days old). Notifications in the settings are turned on so do I have to do something else to make it work or does it just not work properly sometimes?

I did not find a way to bookmark the manga itself, just the latest chapter but it seems that this is the only way to bookmark something. I also close every app on my phone as soon as I don't use it since it is rather old and usually out of power within a day if I don't recharge it.

If someone knows something to solve my problem that'd be very nice!

Hello, I believe that the app does not support notifications. I have the app as well on my tablet but I never get notified when a new chapter comes out even though I have my notification on.

From my pass experiences it either mine is faulty as well or the app just doesn't support notifications.

CR doesn't provide any native manga update notification mechanisms, but there is an unofficial RSS feed (http://utils.senpai.moe/crmanga/updates_rss.xml) which can be used in conjunction with a "recipe" that you would create with a free ifttt.com account to send an email to whatever address you used to sigh up with on ifttt (If This Then That). Presumably you get email notifications on your phone, no?

That will send you an email every time any manga updates on CR.

If you only wanted to get notifications for one or two specific manga, then you could create a separate recipe for each one using a keyword that distinguishes it from the rest, and not create the general one as I did.

Oh that's a nice workaround. I only started using the app on my phone because of the notifications but RSS sounds even better. I was already using a nice Chrome extension (called "RSS Feed Reader") for other sites so this solution is perfect.

I just set it up to only notify me when it contains the names of the manga I follow in the title. Thanks a lot for the solution!
