I've got to agree. Political correctness is so bad anything that even refers to a race or stereotype is considered offensive and causes people to get triggered. Even loony toons would be banned in todays society for promoting stereotypes. Part of the fun of those old shows were the stereotypes and how they turned them into comedy.

Do that today and you will be lynched.

Society's "stupidly politically correct" sensibilities will lead to the "death of comedy", the veteran Hollywood comedian Mel Brooks has warned.

Brooks, known for his plethora of acclaimed comedy movies, said political correctness was becoming a stranglehold on comedians.

"It's not good for comedy. Comedy has to walk a thin line, take risks," he said.

"Comedy is the lecherous little elf whispering in the king's ear, always telling the truth about human behaviour."

The producer and director said that his iconic western parody Blazing Saddles could not be made in today's political climate.

The 1974 comedy western starring Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder featured a black sheriff in a racist town.

Brooks said it was the racial prejudice portrayed within the film that was the mechanism behind its cultural significance.

"Without that the movie would not have had nearly the significance, the force, the dynamism and the stakes that were contained in it,” he said.

Great show BTW definitely recommend. They go out of their way to make this movie stupid and hilarious.

Hey, that's a cool link. It's something I say too. Those who criticize political correctness are often virtue signaling political correctness of a different kind: the question is correct for whom.

So Trump was just making a joke when he talked about all those Mexican rapists? Good to know.

No. We are trying to bring back free speech so we can live in a society where we enjoy life and find humor in it instead of hating life and trying to find offense in everything. You cannot solve problems when political correctness doesn't allow you to talk about the problems were facing.

It even prevents people from making jokes or doing certain comedy. Its thought control.

Context? Trump was glossing over the fact that among female illegal migrants(crossers), the chance of rape is upwards of SEVENTY percent.

Just like I can simply take you out of context and assume you're for the rape of these young ladies trying to seek a better life in the States, because why the hell not amiriteguize? It's only a little rape... Forgivable as long as it's Mexicans being raped to get across the border and vote Dem. Because why not turn America into the place you chanced your life and purity to flee?

Have you not seen the rape trees covered in panties?? And what are these poor ladies to do, call the authorities? In the fucking DESERT?? Where your only real life line is the crazy ass coyote(s)?

---

As for thread, yep. Political correctness a.k.a. "Social Justice" a.k.a. "Acceptance" a.k.a. "Third wave Feminism" a.k.a.... Is absolutely destroying comedy. One of the best methods to reach across cultures, races and creeds is laughter. The left has went all 1984 on everyone and that's double plus bad.

You're already seeing minorities demand segregated spaces and their "Allies" willing to bow and bend to their every whim under the guise of white guilt.

Well, off to refresh with some Jordan Peterson. I feel dirty even having to concede that people are so sensitive they can't handle speech. Whether it be comedy or otherwise. Offense to speech is beyond petty, it's infant. Which would explain the "safe spaces".

I've been more worried about the Death of Mel Brooks comedy--
I mean, seriously: "Life Stinks" we can blame on his living in LA for thirty years (LA is Unfunny-Town), but "Dracula: Dead & Loving It"? "Young Frankenstein: the Broadway Musical"? "Two Thousand Year Old Man in the Year 2000"?....Mel, what happened??

Face it, when we now retroactively consider "History of the World Pt. 1" one of his funnier movies...
