So I'm asking you guys/gals between the ages of 14-20.

How many of you play games older than you? If so what do you play? Mario & Mega Man are easy pick up & play games but what about RPGs that involves 40+ hours?

Just curious because I grew up with the video game industry almost from the ground up. So going back and playing older games for me is more nostalgic and I feel an appreciation for them. Any of you feel like SNES or PS1 games are too dated and just not worth the time?

Just asking as I'm curious what you younger guys have to say. I'm not judging.

21, so not quite there

And none
The graphics are a little too dated for my tastes and I didn't start gaming like really early. The first game I really remember is Ruby
Everything past that is is newer and I have a backlog of stuff that's older, but still older than me

I do play some older games. Majora's Mask and Banjo Kazooie are some of my favorites.

I actually think playing older games has grown in popularity now compared to a few years ago, cause the internet loves to suck the dick of old games

Some old games i've tried like Mega Man or the 2D marios are just not fun at all. Mega Man is way too boring and hard, it feels like a try hard platforming hybrid. 2D Mario is just boring compared to sonic ... not even joking lol

I play some older games like PS1 for example, at times. I usually play PS3/PS4, some RPG:s, some action and so on. It varies.

I used to play a lot of Mario on Wii/Wii U but for few years now, i haven't touched that for long time. Same i could say about Pokémon. I played a lot of Y and AS but Sun? Oh man. I did complete the story but considering how much time i consumed on those two, i haven't been too exited about it.

Uh ... Pac Man? XD
I think I'm just a bit too lazy... I have absolutely nothing against older games but you hear so much more news about recent games that there's just that much more pull to play them. :3

I hear this a lot but Mega Man isn't all that hard. Mega Man 1 is probably the hardest, but after that they're challenging but very beatable. I was able to clear Mega Man 2 when I was 8 years old.

As for Mario & Mega Man being boring, well, not much I can say. Just a matter of taste, but IMO they aged well. My daughter likes old school Mario and loves playing Mario Maker. And I have her playing her first RPG with Mario RPG. Of course I help a lot but she does a lot on her own.

It's not that Mega Man is super hard I just don't like the way that most 2D games enforce difficulty. Plus i've only played some of 1 and not hte others It's super boring.

Is it boring because you lose and are not good at the game?

Why would that make it boring? Now it seems like youre trying to make petty personal insults ... but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you aren't

I actually prefer difficult games. I just didn't like my experience with Mega Man 1. I don't know why you're taking it so personally. Just my opinion. I'm not saying they're objectively bad. I have the Mega Man Zero collection on DS. I might play that

My 2nd favorite game is Dark Souls

It was just a question. Gamers take offense when you call on their gaming skills. Ill be the first to tell you i suck at games now.

I honestly didnt mean any offense and im not taking it personally. BTW i never beat Dark Souls. We're at both ends of the spectrum i guess.

It's nice to see the younger generation playing NES and SNES, the games I grew up playing. Yet I also don't expect them to like or play them. I can see how teens these days would find them "outdated". To be honest a good portion of them aged very poorly, yet we still play them since they have found memories for us as kids playing them.

thanks to my parents warping me early, I was pretty much prepared for a lot of things outside my age. so yeah, I am famous for playing games beyond my age. but, when you're watching horror at the age of five, there will be consequences in the future.
