I've had him for about 9 years. His previous owners used to beat him (his back leg looks like it was broken and didn't fully heal, so he walks a little weird) and leave him outside in the Texas heat, without food / barely any water for days straight. I'd bring him some when I could because he was super thin and you could see his ribs.

>_> So I stole him from them when I moved and he's been a super happy dog since. Probably shouldn't have just taken him, but who knows how long it would have taken if I had reported it or something. Sadly, those people went out and got a new dog a week after I took him and probably did the same thing :/

This is Obsidian I've had him for about 5 years. I found him in a dried out riverbed next to my high school one hazy weekend, I think he's been there for a couple hundred thousand years. Now he chill's in my living room, next to my fireplace...he always sits there, I think he smokes the devils lettuce cause he always looks stoned.

I don't know if this will show up, but This is Midge. A longhair tortie cat. She was found under the mailboxes in the apartment I was living for a time in Georgia. It was mid summer 11 year ago and the heat rose above 105 degrees that day. When I took her in, she was very obedient and took to the litter box very well. A visit to the vet confirmed that she was fixed and had a previous owner. She was most likely abandoned since she hates to be alone. She follows me everywhere, maintaining a two foot proximity to me at all times. Her meows sound like a kitten, and she knows how cute she is.

Pro tip:On CR there is a bug where it adds a "$" in your picture text. If you take that out it'll show your picture.

I also have another cat (well kitten) , my sister took in. Her mother was pregnant living in a trash alley and my uncle took her in after seeing and feeding her everyday. My uncle took two, my cousin took 1 and My sister took Ruby. She is a sleepy cat but when she's active she is all playful and hungry. She doesn't meow. The only time I hear her meow is when my sister accidentally stepped on her tail. She is friendly with strangers and is okay with people picking her up and petting her. Overall I like that she doesn't make a fuss but is also playful.

Make sure to vaccinate any stray pets against rabies when you take them in.

Nah I wouldn't rescue any. They'd be a pain and cost too much to fix up.

This is the best pet! I bet he's a great paper weight.

My goodness she is so fluffy. I just want to cuddle her. That will drive my other two nuts but they are not as fluffy.
