If the people in Puerto Rico were white, would more of an effort be made to get resources to the island?

I personally don't see what the set back is. We are America the great. We have the biggest military in the world. Food and water and can be dropped into out of the way places. if we can get supplies to soldiers when we 're at war in remote areas, then we can get supplies and resources to the people in Puerto Rico.

Considering the delay and apathy Trump shows towards giving even the most simple and basic response to the Puerto Rico crisis especially when compared to the hurricanes in Flroida and Texas, I would say yes. Of course, that's only speculation, but I doubt even the most zealous Trump supprpter will deny the simple fact that he is not treating them with the same urgency as people on the mainland. These are still American taxpayers and they'r ein a situation much worse than Florida, so why does Florida get the preferrential treatment?

the more important question is, why isn't any of our allies helping us besides mexico

the USA just got hit with multiple hurricanes, and needs help, mexico just got hit with a few quakes and still helps us

Britain france japan etc aren't sending aid

if they were in the same dilemma we would be helping them

this has nothing to do with being "white"

I doubt Trump even realizes Puerto Rico is a part of the US.

Thats not whats being discussed, and yes, it does have to do with being white or not. America should be able to aid its own territories, considering our own strength. Yet football players seem more important to the President than the fact that most Puerto Ricans don't even have electricity.

Thats not whats being discussed, and yes, it does have to do with being white or not. And don't say, just got hit with a few quakes. Dozens of people died, it was and is a tragedy. ..first of, I used the word just because it did JUST get hit by quakes, ya know, like recently? hence the word just lol. and no it doesn't, there are a lot of blacks and Mexicans in texas and florida, yet we still sent aid, I think It has more to do with PR not being a state

example : I just got a video game

He did talk extensively about whether or not he'd waive the Jones Act for Puerto Rico. This act states that transporting goods between U.S. ports can only be done by U.S. ships, so to know that it applied to Puerto Rico he would have had to have known they were Americans. He only waived the act today, a week after the hurricane hit, by the way. Figured that would be important to note in this thread, given that he waived it in a heartbeat for Texas and Florida.

Shipping Terminal is full and backlogged, but it can't get out because of logistics problems.

Eeek, I just realized and deleted that, sorry,...my bad! ... So? It still deserves the same attention and aid that any state deserves. In my opinion. And yes, but I have a feeling that if Puerto Rico was majority caucasian, a lot more assistance would be being sent over.

Exactly, he probably needed it explained to him that, yes, Puerto Ricans are Americans.

I agree they need aid, however simply isn't just because "they aint white" this is race baiting
