Starting yesterday 9/29 there is no sound. I can open a different site in a new tab and get sound, the windows dings play when appropriate, and I have tried clicking mute on and off and ran the volume max and minimum. But Crunchyroll no longer gives me audio with the video while other sources function just fine.

Anyone else ever have a similar issue and if so, how did you fix it.

What browser are you using and have you changed anything on your computer recently?

CR still uses a flash video player which many other websites do not use as their primary video player anymore. If you right click on the video window you should see a context menu which allows you to tweak the flash player's settings. Specifically in your case, you want to go to the settings tab and then click the audio output tab and see if your primary sound device has been selected.

I've moved this to the Site Support forum. I've seen a few people post recently that they are having trouble with Crunchyroll audio, but I haven't looked into them to see if anyone has come up with a good answer for why it's happening and how to fix it.

I have seen this in another thread:

Right-click the player while playing
Select "Settings"
Click on the speaker icon/Audio
Select the correct device for output.

This issue popped up for me as well at the same time. I tried updating Firefox, Adobe, and restarted my computer. None of that worked at all. But changing the settings for flash like the above says totally fixed everything. I've been noticing lately that Crunchyroll has been constantly trying to use one of my monitor's speakers instead of my dedicated ones until I disable those speakers, but it never completely died like it did until now. According to the settings, it was using the one audio port left that I'm not using that wasn't disabled...which turns out to have absolutely nothing connected to it.

Not sure why now (worked for years before), but Adobe Flash is being weird about how they choose default audio. Best to change it manually like the other posts said.

My issues started on the 29th too.

I have a TV connected to my laptop and Crunchyroll will NOT play on my TV and will play through my laptop speakers.
This was never a problem before. Netflix works fine and other apps on my computer play through the TV fine.

Crunchyroll's cookies have done something that is theoretically impossible to recreate on purpose without dedicated software and that's to play audio through the laptop speakers while a different audio stream goes to the TV.

IF I clear cookies it works for one show and reverts.

Ok, checked the Flash settings and it was sending audio to an output i never used.
Changed to HDMI and it's good.

Bumping this as I'm now getting no sound as well. And the settings thing has no audio section. Just display, privacy, storage, microphone and camera.

edit:fixed somehow.
