Well aren't you sassy. This feature wasn't created for the people pumping their own gas. It existed back in the day before self-service gas pumping was the norm in most states. Back then it allowed gas station attendants to pump for more than one car at time, wash your windshield while the gas was pumping, or even check your oil.

It may have originally been intended for station attendants, but I've no qualms about taking advantage of it. Usually you have just the right amount of time to give your windshield a quick cleaning before the tank's full.

Which, to answer the OP's question, I suppose means I don't wait at all.

Windshield wipers never seem to do the best job of getting bug or bird.. residue.. off the glass, so it's a good use of the time in my opinion.

I tend to wait and monitor the nozzle, it doesn't take all that long and there have been a few times that sometimes the nozzle doesn't cut off when it reaches that fullish level.

I don't have a car or anything, but here we pump it outselves. If you can be inside while doing so, impressive.

Nah, I stand by it. When I was a kid, there was a bit of a gas spill when we were filling the car up. I vividly remember getting some on my pants and smelling like gas for the afternoon. If my dad weren't outside at the time, it would have been worse.

Outside, always since I am always paranoid that the gas pump is going to come flying out and spill gas everywhere

Stand outside the car. My car has a 20 gal. tank, so it only takes around five minutes to fill.

On Mexico, there's someone who operates the pump, so you don't have to get out of the car

... Actually, i don't even know how to remove the gas cap

Wait outside. If there's a blizzard or it's just super cold I wait in my car.
