Can you be racist if your not sexually attracted to a certain race. In terms of friendship and working together, race does not matter but when it comes to dating you are much more attracted to other races. Now is that just preference or are you just secretly racist?

Just a preference.

Calling someone a racist because they are only attracted to a certain race is like calling a heterosexual homophobic for being straight or even a homosexual being heterophobic. All are ridiculous.

Racism as I know it is irrationally hating another race. Not wanting to date people within a certain race is not hatred at all.

I've wondered that myself. I don't think so.

But I'm afraid if being called one if I turn down someone of a different race, despite being friends or coworkers. Most people can be attracted to different races and I happily support their decision. But its just not for me.

I was called racist because as a black person I don't want to date other black people.

People are weird OP, I see nothing wrong with it. If you're not attracted to them, you're not attracted to them. *Shrug*

I think I'm racist because I do not like Indians because I do not like how they smell? Nah not at all. It is just preference. Can people say that I'm racist if Im just avoiding to faint? Preference can be change. , Yeah and that be that day..

Usually when that happens I tell a white lie and say I'm already seeing someone. Works most of the time.

No. As everyone is saying, having a preference to what you find attractive dose not mean that you see yourself as superior to those whom you're not attracted to.
The not being attracted to your own race is a tough one though. I mean i have an Asian girl fetish but i still am very much so attracted to my own kind so i cant answer that one. I can see how in some peoples view that could make you a race traitor or seen as being ashamed of your race or something.

EDIT: Personally i think every race has attractive people. But i most definitely find some races more attractive than others. I like Japanese girls and Korean girls more than say Thai or Indonesian girls for example. Overall.

What happens if you find a person from that race that has everything you want in a boyfriend/girlfriend? Is that honestly going to stop you? Everybody has their preference, but sometimes you can't help who you fall in love with (race, gender, creed, etc).

Well, I tend to look at whether I find individuals attractive rather "a race" attractive, and I have found attractive people in all the "races" on Earth. Now there are cultural practices that I find disfiguring, but that's a different ball game entirely.
