The money. "World peace" is one of those things that require a horrendous price to achieve, like sacrificing free will and individualism. Sure, a billion is far too much for me to want to deal with, but it beats "world peace."

This is very true but i think the question would be an ideal world peace but your most likely right.

Though i would rather trade individualism for Collectivism anyday.

Money is the smartest move i think

Your question may not be phrased in the way you intended.

Ha! It'd take more than a $billion to devalue the dollar. Be like Rick, just change a 1 into a 0.

The billion dollars, "world peace" is a bit of a tricky way to put it and can have unpredictable outcomes.

It wouldn't be the billion that would devalue the currency it would be the idea that someone independent of the US government/Federal Reserve has the power to create large volumes of legal currency. It would send Wall Street into a panic.

Money, world peace is a nice concept but not possible to achieve as conflict is pretty much human nature

I would take the money and I would use ~half of it to sponsor programs that I think would improve the world, which is what I'd do if I had a ton of money, anyway. Like scholarships to help students study abroad and experience different cultures. That's really the thing that I think would most help to bring world peace.

Then, I would probably use ~a million of it to live in a five star hotel for a year.

I'd probably use the rest to produce art projects that I think are worthwhile, mostly theatre and anime. That also has a peace-inducing effect on the world.

I wouldn't buy a car. I hate cars.

This is how we fail. Nice fail everyone. Greed wins. No wonder the world is so jacked.

Most people here wouldn't even know what to do with 1 billion dollars.

If there is world peace, there wouldn't be need for military, and we would still have our borders. Do you know how many billions of dollars are wasted on ammunition and rifles, tanks, fighter jets, just to keep *peace* at our fingertips. There would be no threat to us. If anything we would just need people for natural disasters.

If there is world peace, that would mean all of the drug addicts and criminals would either die, or make their way back in society, creating unity with everyone, making prisons obsolete. Do you know how many Billions we would save?

Do you know what the world could finally focus on if everyone came together with one collective mind That ultimately shares it's differences between one another, and not having to worry about going to war with another.

I couldn't even spend a billion dollars, but somewhere along the line it may turn against me. Like how the internet sometimes distracts me from important things I could be doing.

Easy enough to not have to worry about something for the rest of your life, but there is more to life than money.

I don't really think I'd know until I was actually in the situation, but I'd like to think I'd go for world peace.

Are we talking unconditional world peace because that would mean humanity became the borg and joined one collective mind/opinion. Since I treasure my individuality, I will take the 1 billion thank you.
