A dead artist's work tends to appreciate after their death. So, in that sense, yes? Your question can be interpreted in different ways. I mean, even though Vincent van Gogh is dead his works sell at auction for millions of dollars. A lot of the value of his work stems from the fact that he's dead and can't paint anymore.

There's more dead people than alive people, so statistically speaking it's more likely that dead people will have the best stuff.
