Wow, that Luck kid is actually pretty creepy. The way he smiles and dedicates his victories to his mother just gives me an eerie vibe.

The episode itself made sense with the teamwork and stuff. Honestly, Noelle is the underwhelming one from the group so far. While she does have talent, it doesn't feel like she's standing out. Yuno is starting to show more and more of his true abilities.

well we can just hope their well be better, strong likeable characters introduce more, hey maybe more chill royalty characters like the Wizard King.

I wouldn't exactly call her chill but Mereoleona Vermillion is awesome and nothing like these other jerk nobles.

unfortunately she is a long long way away.

I think we are around chapter 14 or 15 here and she doesn't show up until the early 100s.

Anyone else notice that they keep reusing scenes over and over between the intro and after a pause/break. Is their budget limited that they need to waste 4 minutes or more?

Maybe this anime would have been better in the hands of a more capable studio.

Production values in this show are so bad but I can tolerate it just enough to justify wasting 24 minutes of my life every week to watch it in hopes that it gets better.

I totally agree with that assessment. At times I want it to get worse so I can justify dropping it from my queue XD

Not a fan of this anime but it's not bad enough to warrant removal... yet

Hope it gets better!

My biggest issue with the anime adaptation of Black Clover so far is that it is obviously trying to imitate the format of other long running shounen anime, even though it doesn't have to. Meaning they have a recap each episode, a copy-pasted intro scene, and a "this is what next episode is about" scene at the end of each episode. On top of this they spread the actual content of each episode as far as possible so that they can ultimately have a new episode every week, all year long. All that this does is deteriorate the quality of the show, and ruin the breakneck pacing the manga originally had. Furthermore, comparing Black Clover to something like My Hero Academia shows just how inferior Black Clover's format/episode schedule is. I think that if they had gone with a seasonal approach like My Hero, Black Clover would not only have had better pacing, it would look better too.

Don't get it twisted though, I actually really like Black Clover and I've read volumes one through nine so far. I can say without a doubt that it's not a bad manga, but the anime adaptation is just somewhat disappointing. I still watch it though, not to "see if it gets better" though, I simply enjoy it despite its lower quality.

I recommend that if you enjoy the show at all that you check out the manga, it's a lot more fun to read as a result of proper pacing.

I read the manga and thats why the pace of the anime adaptation annoys me but I basically accepted the fact that its going to be this way no matter we like it or not

We will see more action in the next episode because the enemy has a big magic sword and I say no more but yeah , annoying cut since we all know already that Asta has the anti magic sword whats the point of cutting it there its waht happens next should have been the cut

Oof, the writing in the last couple episodes has really lowered my opinion of the show. Here I thought I had jumped the highest hurdles in order to keep up with Black Clover. I've accepted Asta's grating character and the shows over all shallow premise. Was this by chance originally Naruto fan-fic? This last ep had hands down one of the worst "we're friends" speeches I've seen in any shounen.

I really love this anime, the only down side for me is Asta shouting all the time but it kind of getting less of that now.

I like the story and animation.

"I may just be a pebble, but I'm a pebble that shatters diamonds" *shatters Dimaond Man* Pretty corny, but slightly badass.

Luck he is something else, even after he finds out this guy's situation, father of three girls, he still wants to kill him, morbid he is willing to punish the innocent for his own blood lust. If Asta was in this situation, he would show mercy.

Dang, I thought they would catch the old guy, but he's pretty crafty. Saved his teammates too. I do hope they managed to capture Mars (that's the Diamond guy's name right?). Anyways, Asta was particularly impressive in this episode. Also, it was shown more in the previous episode, but I'm digging how these Black Bulls are learning to fight as a team.

What a herculean physique!

When you think about it, in a world were literally everything is done by magic, the very idea of building up your body the way Asta has would be pretty alien wouldn't it.. I mean even the farming is done by magic, physical power is just not something the people of this world think about.

For glasses-guy seeing Asta like that must be a real WTF? moment
