Black Clover might be far from being the best action shonen, but it nails the comedy so good. This and Hinamatsuri are best comedies this season.

Also this new opening is my jam.

I wonder how often ordinary girls with ordinary jobs and lives get the opportunity to date the equivalent of Special Forces + SWAT. Asta's thick- headed and Luck is psychotic, but the other guy with portal magic is sane, interested in women and his power is flexible and useful in normal life.

Going from this episode, Magic Knights must be really common in the populace and spread all over the country, so I wonder why the show seems to portray them as rare and special and concentrated in the capital?

A lot of recapping this week....

I did notice the official sites and other channels list it as episode #29 though. When the next arc picks up, I'm guessing they'll keep the pacing at a similar pace like for the first 28 episodes.

Pretty much felt like a recap episode. Also the usual backstory of Wizard King was also extended. I just have to wonder when they decide to stop doing that. I'm sure everybody knows that by now. If it goes past episode 30+, it get ridiculous. Granted, it's only 30 seconds or so,but still. Enough's enough.

Considering they've been following the Bleach trend with doing a recap of the previous episode at the beginning of every new one, and an additional recap (10 seconds) after the commercial break - an entire recap episode is unnecessary.

I haven't read the manga but in the anime... does no one notice, even Asta or Yuno, that Asta's grimoire is a five leaf clover? Does this topic ever come up?

ah the "Clip show." When you want to tell your audience that you really care about your budget over quality work...

Meh, the latest episode is one big comedy fest.

Of course, Asta is still oblivious to Rebecca's feelings while there's all sorts of jokes like the sister, food gimmicks, etc. Really cringey episode this week.

It honestly sounds like we weren't even watching the same episode...

Lots of good stuff. We found out that Gauche, the one note sister lover, is not only a former/escaped convict, but is apparently an ass kicking machine. His form of magic also uses mirrors, light, & refraction. We also learned his sister lives in a convent like Asta did growing up, hence his ability to quickly form a bond with her. Also, Asta continues to collect females' attentions like Star Wars geeks collect paraphernalia.

Finally, Noelle appears to be at the edge of either admitting her true feelings for Asta, or going full yandere on him & everyone around him.

"good stuff".

Maybe to you but this was much a comedy episode except for the end. It doesn't matter what info they throw at us, nearly the entire episode was filled with comedy from the food gimmicks to the other jokes. Not to mention, Noel constantly reacts to events going on around her in a humorous way.

Gauche's entire role this episode was for comedic purposes, nothing much more.

If you didn't realize the episode was pretty much saturated with comedy, then I'm pretty sure you didn't watch the episode as the way it was intended. It was a very average episode at best for me.

We're between major events so now it's time to expand on the side characters.

There is more to each of the Black Bulls than they appear (That big guy who only breaths smoke in particular)

Just because it's about comedy, doesn't mean it can't say something, too. Satire is one of the most used forms of Comedy, precisely because it is both funny and insightful at the same time.

As me and my tech support buddies like to say when joking around about explaining a difficult concept to a customer, "I can explain it to you as many times as you'd like, but I can't understand it for you."

LOL All abroad the Rebecca train. But this sister complex with Gauche is rather annoying. But this new OP song is pretty sick.

Thats gotta hurt Gauche...
