hmm.... aaah....

That wasn't very good for a first episode. Very lackluster to start off, compounded by the fact that the animation already looks fairly low budget from the get-go.

I only watched this to see how ox looked. Gonna only watch because my sign/zodiac thing is ox and ox looks cool.

I like battle royals, I thought this was okay. Since this is 12 episodes and there is 12 zodiacs I assume that at least one will die each episode.

I find it funny that the two anime, from this season (this and Black Clover) Crunchyroll seems to be shilling out the most are both generic as hell.

Going to keep watching this because of the writer. However, I like the Rabbit...A LOT.

I wonder if we'll have a different character PoV each episode. Not sure what to expect but I hope the action is entertaining enough. There were some decent movement animation during the Boar's flashback. Curious if the Boar is actually going to be die so soon, or if someone else lends her a hand.

I'll jump on Team Monkey. She seems like a little rascal.

I have to say that my first impression was definitely more positive than most of the comments here so far. I actually quite enjoyed it. The character designs were cool and I'm definitely interested in seeing how all of them actually fight. It may not be the most novel series ever but, at least so far, it's pretty well executed for what it is.

Team Chicken here. No idea how she's going to fight with her giant fork, but at least she's cute.

Not my thing at all, even for testosterone-filled action.

No, No, Nooooo, that is literally the exact opposite of what you are suppose to do and look at where it got you. Epic Fail! I'm one for action and a battle royal style anime, just don't tell PUBG devs lol.

Well as my zodiac sign is snake, you can tell I am mighty disappointed.

So I'm just hoping for chaos now.

So if Boar was captured this episode and next week's episode takes out Dog and Rooster (mongrel and fowl) does that mean Rat wins at the end? I hope it's not so simplistic as going in the exact zodiac rotation.

Well that was dumb just no, no point in trying to explain it. I just thought it was dumb, the characters, the set up, the fight, all of it.

I'm open to seeing where the next episode goes. I can appreciate an old fashioned blood bath with every character at peril and if Boar is indeed out of it then I applaud the writers for being willing to give so much backstory and time to a character they planned to off at the get go. Let's be honest, from experience we all know whoever the protag is is likely to be the winner so upending that expectation would be a nice change of pace. On the flip side it does make it harder to invest in the story as we don't have a character to connect to. I'd like to at least see how episode two plays out and how they try to balance "anyone could die"/"we don't want to give away the winner" with "we need to get the viewers invested".

What direction were they trying to go with a 1st episode like that? Introduction-less, immediate flash-back back-story, purposeless monologue and plain stage setting?? *Personal Opinion: so far, the 1st episode has left me with a bunch of rhetorically questions than actual questions I want answered. I am going give this series only til episode 2 to convince me to keep watching.
