This feels exactly like Tohyo Game, a manga with a pretty similar premise. Which it turns out this is based on a manga, so basically two manga doing the same thing

Not surprising given that this space has been explored a lot. I was thinking it should have been titled Deadman's Diary.

I'm gonna put my money on something happens to the guy Honda is supposed to hook up with, and thus her order becomes null and void. At least, that's how Tohyo Game would do it.

I don't think it specified a classmate, so anyone will do. (If it's MC, that'll tell a lot about the show.)

I will say though, CR needs to think of something to make the texts easier to read so we don't have to have our controller or remote or whatever at the ready constantly to pause to read it. Like, even just leaving the translation floating over the scene for a few seconds would be enough

Can a native read Japanese quicker? They seem to flash by awfully fast, even when subtitles aren't competing for attention.

Episode one thoughts :

I was actually suprised how eventful the first episode was and how they weren't hesitant or afraid to unleash all the violence and gore in the first episode . Series so far is starting to remind me of "Another" which was also very good. Can't wait for episode 2.

I really hope they don't censor a lot of the content coming up. Also there's no way they get through both mangas in 12 episodes

Jeez, why did the main character kiss her? He has already lived through the game, and knows that the punishments are nearly instantaneous, if not a few seconds.

I also found the expressions on the people beating the main character to be odd, with hints of overt sadism than paranoia, as if they are beating him up not because he is suspected to be the culprit, but that he angers them for some past misdeed. Seriously? Of course, this all boils down to how much lee way we will give to people making irrational decisions in horror, with my standards being a bit higher.

Also guys this is King's Game 2 which is ok, you can read the prequel manga if you want to. They work as a stand alone series as well.

Watched the first 1 minute 49 seconds of it. Then sent it to the trash.

Eh. Would have preferred that 33% of the class not to die right off the bat... feels kinda cheap to issue an order that many literally couldn't obey. Unless they all woke up and ignored it and went back to bed, but doubtful given it was midnight when all those new orders and "no deep rest" went out.

Seems like it's only a matter of time before "kill a classmate" or other such things are ordered. We already saw the a few of those mass orders after the kiss escalated to fondling someone and doing more sexual acts. Some were told to tell other classmates to die, so we can see how that could escalate come the next round of orders.

Episode 2

Man, this continues to be a fucking mess, both this show and this class. Naturally, having an order being someone giving an order wouldn't be so bad, but the problem is that it's Shouta giving the order, and he tells Daisuke to die. Just when Nobuaki managed to avoid it, that clock was fast and Daisuke ended up dying. Now Natsuko is trying to kill Nobuaki by making it look like he was trying to rape her. It doesn't get more messed up than this as these guys are doing exactly what they shouldn't be doing at a time like this. Not to mention, it's easy to send fake texts as well.

Second episode was amazing just as good as the first possible Anime of the season?

Main character is brave and considerate seeing as he tried to take the girls feelings into consideration even though she would die just incase.
Characters are losing it and breaking already look foward to episode 3!

Put it like this PV if you lived through the horror would you try to survive again or just die and not have to go through the horror?
The first game broke him so much he likely didn't want to live if another game started.

Alot of the irrational decisions make sense due to how on edge they are about it all.

Episode 2

The second episode is a flashback of Nobuaki telling everyone how everyone in his class didn't believe the punishment of the King's Game, but after two classmates died changed that. After Daisuke slept with someones girl in order to follow the order that person order him to hang himself. In order to prevent that Nobuaki stayed at his house but when Daisuke went to get a drink he hung himself. The last few minutes Natsuko has a change of personality and even tries to frame Nobuaki. She tells a female classmate to order him to die, while Nobuaki passes out.

That's twice now that the drama payoff has been 'had the wrong time set on their phones.' I think the author may have had something to say about tardiness.

Not sure how much more of this show I can take. Everyone is 'scream at the tv' levels of stupid, every situation is exasperated by some massive oversight, and none of the character interactions seem genuinely human. If the point was to create a show where every one feels like the naive jerk that dies first in a horror movie than kudos! Otherwise I'm probably going to drop this at three.

This show is actually pretty dumb once you see how cheesy the story is written.

The deaths and way characters die is very cliche and something you can find in almost any horror theme TV show/movie. (whether anime or live action). The drama also feels forced for this show especially with the classroom scenes. I'm not even slightly surprised that Natsuko changed completely this episode. (even the opening song hints at it if you watch it carefully)

Very poorly written anime at the moment, we'll see how it develops but it's pretty disappointing.

Pretty much lol. I can't stand the main cast already.

I doubt any of them will get decent characterization either. (it was confirmed recently that the show will be 12 episodes)

MC-kun is the wrong person to be in a relationship with.

He has bro intentions but will never be a bro.
