If you had a chance to create your very own anime, what would it be? Describe how your main characters would play themself and how the story will begin and end.

I'd like to see someone adapt David Eddings' Belgariad and Malloreon as anime. We're always getting Western adaptations of popular Asian works, but I think it would be more interesting the other way round.

Some ideas that I am sure have been done before but would like to see:

1. We have a lot of 'real people get trapped in a video game' stories but how about 'video game person gets trapped in real world'? Video game guy gets stuck in the real world and has to get a job, find an apartment, get a girlfriend, etc. But he is always approaching things in a video game way. Like he has has to be repeatedly reminded that hitting stuff with a sword is not a real job, breaking into people's houses and going through their drawers looking for coins is not acceptable, etc.

2. Spin-off: We take an established and beloved anime and expand upon it where the cast is playing a game and they get really into it. Like the anime is playing the game. Sort of The Day of Sagittarius from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya but expanded to a whole season. Make it an RPG and have the characters from the series playing a character in the game.

3. Firefly, the anime.

4. Warhammer 40k, the anime

5. Anime Crossover Show. Have stereotypical characters from different anime genres all living in a house. Like we have a magical girl, a shonen protagonist, a kid detective, etc all living together like in The Real World. Each episode something from one of the resident's pasts comes back to haunt them and we get to see how a magical girl would do in a detective show or how a hot-blooded shonen hero would do in a slice-of-life anime.

I really like this one! There are some in that vein, but it's usually from another dimension/world/etc., but I love the thought of using a "fictional" game character plunked into the "real" world. It could be really funny and really sweet/touching depending on how it was done.

Imagine Morrowind-tier complex lore and world-building, with a dash of Fallout and Dark Souls; taking place in a world that's technologically a hybrid between 15th and mid 19th centuries; stylistically appearing European with Chinese / Mongolian (and by extension, Turkic) influences. It's a world / story idea I've been bouncing around in my head for awhile now.

I don't know what to call it, as it's not exactly high-fantasy. There's mix of science and magic going on, à la Raildex.

Regardless, there's no way it would ever be made into an Anime. It'd be completely inaccessible to the average viewer, and would therefore not be commercially viable. I also imagine the overwhelming majority of Japanese viewer bases would dislike it, probably because it's something they haven't had 100 times already.

I would like to make a game of it though. Some day, maybe.

I want something like Love and Lies except with A REAL ENDING and NOT TOTALLY RUIN IT BY LETTING PEOPLE HANG ON A NON-ENDING

It would probably be based of a book series I am writing. Where two half demon siblings whose parents were slaughtered when they where just children have now grown up to be renegade mercenaries fighting to find the military group that killed their parents and take revenge. The characters would be mostly the same, the older brother Raven being the more obvious half demon blaming himself for not being able to give his younger sister Merissa a happy, normal life away from the violence of the world with her trying to prove she is happy enough just to have him by her side. (for deeper reasons explained later on.) The show would basically go through their life (including flashbacks to their rough past alone, outside with no real shelter) and the battles they face against a world that hates them just for being born.

I'm already doing that. Well, I'm writing LNs with the hope that they'll get adapted into something animated someday.

They're almost all BL about long-haired princes who are also musicians.

... I'd also really love to see an anime of this one novel series I like, or a second season of one of my favorite anime.

Ideally, I'd love to choose both the Japanese and English casts. Because in both, there are a lot of voice actors I really like, and a lot that I really don't like...

Teenage foriegner going to Japan countryside to live there for the summer, gains the dialect/accent of a countryman, goes to Tokyo later-on, and thus begins the trouble to communicate with the city slickers...

I don't know, it sounds better in the head

I already have a space opera I'm working on (had originally thought of it in the '80s, but it went on the back burner for a long time). Writing it in an anime/manga style, although it could be a web-animation like RWBY just as easily.

So I know one I'd like to see, but gotta get cracking and finish enough to sell the product.

A world with zero resources of any kind, the only things that exist are invulnerable strange machines that constantly produce more people. The only way to survive is to fight, kill, and eat each other.

A no hope type anime like attack on titan or that one about bugs on mars (I forget the name)

These all sound really fun.

Putting aside the idea of something original, I'd like to see an adaptation of the manga Yumekui Kenbun (Nightmare Inspector in the English translation, although that's not a translation of the Japanese title), provided it was done well, of course. (A bad anime adaptation is worse than no anime adaptation, imo.)
