The first episode is now up on Anime Strike: LINK

Episode 1

Here is the prequel of when Togo went under the name of Sumi Washio as her skepticism started long before. Togo, Gin, and Sonoko all go fighting a water Vertex, and then they became friends. Their teamwork wasn't the best, but it got the job done. Pretty nice moment that was for them to become friends over gelato. Anyway, that was a nice way to get back into the series as Togo sure went through a lot

Seems the first movie's 30 minutes covered the first episode. I immediatley recognized some of the scenes they used.

Movie trilogy covers first 6 episodes. The 6 episodes in November-rest of the year will be new content.
Good TV show for those who are getting into this anime for the season. (even if you haven't seen the original Yuuki Yuuna series)

I wish this were on Netflix instead. Money is getting tighter and tighter due to taxes and costs of doing business going up. I really don't want to add yet another subscription service at this point but I want to watch this so badly too. Plus, I really want it to get a physical release with an English dub later. (Loved the original series and it's dub so much!)

Also sigh for AS.
Didn't realise there were movies, but I guess I'll watch them later at some point.

Glad to have this series back, even if the first one had a disappointing ending. It feels like the old series, but with a bit more budget?
Poor Washii, you have no idea.

Episode 1

Washio Sumi Chapter is a prequel taking place two years before Togo meets Yuna and the rest of the hero club. She went under the name Washio Sumi and was partnered with Gin and Sonoko. When it came time to fight their first vertex they had a rough time as they did there own thing. After seeing that none of their attacks work they came up with a plan to distract the vertex and get Gin close enough to finish it. The next day Sumi gather's her courage and invites Gin and Sonoko out to celebrate. They all bond while enjoying gelato and was the day that Sonoko came up with the nickname Wasshi for Sumi.

Episode 1

This season's Magical Girl shenanigans begins!!

Really glad to have Yuki Yuna back since I really enjoyed the first season when it came back. The production, all the way from backgrounds, animation, and music holds up well, which is very pleasing. I even think there are new tracks!

Knowing what is to come for the trio, the emotional ride is in store and how they will portray it should be interesting. Also, those transformation sequences are top-notch....excluding the fan service, lol.

Episode 2

And the three mow down two more Vertices, though it wasn't easy. The second one they fought, a spinning monster, they managed to defeat it but their teamwork was just a mess. So this calls for some heavy duty training, all enjoying some R&R along the way, while Sonoko is chosen as the leader. And then comes another Vertex, and this time everybody was on the same page to take that thing down. And as for why Gin is always late, it turns out that she's being helpful. Very nice to see those three pulling together and operating as a team because going forward they will need to do that.

Episode 2

It was a half a month until the second Vertex showed up and when it came to defeating it they had trouble. Once again Gin was the one to defeat the vertex. They get scolded by their teacher and she saw the need to appoint a leader and Sumi wanted that role but unfortunately Sonoko was chosen. The teacher than planned a training camp so the girls could get use to working together and it was rough but they manage to get through it. Sumi and Sonoko wonder why Gin is always late to class, so they decide to spy on her and turns out that she stops to help other people. While following her they see that she needs help and stop hiding to help her. While eating undon another Vertex shows and this time the girls are ready. They use the training they learned and work together to defeat the Vertex and Sumi realizes why Sonoko was chosen as leader.

Seeing the girls train was fun and whenever there some type of training camp there is fan service. Seeing the teacher come in showing that nice body silenced the girls right away. Sumi may have big boobs but they aren't as big as sensei's yet.

Episode 3

So after training their butts off, the three get some time off. And then it's a bunch of dream sequences going on. First it's playing dress-ups, then it's performing in front of a bunch of cats, and drawing battleships. And Sumi is trying her hand at writing a novel to go up against Sonoko, but it fails. Then it's love letters, a trip to the pool, and the girls cosplaying as soldiers to do a dance, finishing up with helping a baby. So after all that, it's back to training for these girls.

This episode feels just like an omake series there with all sorts of random nonsense that is usually in OVAs and extras on the BD. While this show has plenty of lighthearted stuff in the middle of a serious situation, this one goes to the extreme, and then some. Anyway, that was pretty amusing to see all this craziness go down.

Episode 3

After some time training the girls are given some time for themselves. The next day Sonoko picks up Sumi and they spent time picking different outfits for Gen and Sumi switch has been flipped that she was getting nosebleeds. While eating ice-cream Sonoko tells them about a dream she had where they had a concert for some cats. While talking about dreams in the future Gen lets the girls know that she wants to be bride in the future and Sonoko wants to be a novelist. Sumi decides to check out Sonoko's novels online and gets the idea to write some of her own, but when she checks the ratings it's really bad. At school Sonoko gets a love letter from someone but she figures out it's from a girl and later they go to the pool and even have a show for some kids. Sumi and Sonoko later meet Gen and she happens to be with her family and they even see her care for baby brother. Now that their break is finally over it's back to training and fighting Vertex.

Episode 4

The three go on a field trip together outside town where the whole class is having a training camp. After a bunch of struggling, they make it through. Then after that comes a Vertex invasion and there are two of them. Make that three as from out of nowhere, an arrow-spitting Vertex appears, and they take out Sumi and Sonoko leaving only Gin to fight. Gin goes all out and while she defeated all the Vertices, it came at the cost of her life. That was quite a bloody fight there as I knew that things were going to turn dark at some point since Gin did die in battle, while Sonoko and Sumi ended up disabled.
