Synopsis

In a prosperous city named Russell City, an omen that threatens to shake its world begins to move within it. A man named Sword is the first to hear the first stirrings of the plot, and throws himself into a shadow war in order to expose it. His only clue is the key word "El Dorado." He meets Sophie, a woman searching for her missing older brother who has only left her with the same words: "El Dorado." With Sword having also lost his younger sister in the past, both are drawn together by the words, and work together to find out its meaning.

Just for the record, I watched the first episode of this anime without knowing what Garo is.

Wakanim. I'm not sure where you live but Wakanim is only available in Scandinavia, French- and German-speaking countries. It's been up for over 4 h.

Badass action sequences, and then there's the art style. It felt like a mix between Redline and The Darkness (the graphic novel, not the game).

Lastly, I want that ring that Sword's wearing.

Episode 1

I didn't make it very far with the other two Garo series, but nevertheless I checked this out, and it looks pretty solid so far. The action is great, and Sword donning the golden armor is pretty cool. The first season was based in Spain during the Inquisition, while Crimson is based on the Heian era in Japan, and this one looks like it's based on present day America, and it's pretty obvious that it's based off New York City as there's Times Square and the Brooklyn Bridge. Anyway, it was mostly action and there wasn't much of a story to speak of at the moment as Sophie was being hunted by a Horror who is after red-headed girls, and Sword comes and kicks his ass on the Brooklyn Bridge. Pretty solid start, but what comes next will be the real test.

Talk about an infusion of testosterone! I was a little worried about the animation from the first two minutes, but the later scenes more than made up for it. They sure didn't skimp on animating those action scenes. I'm curious if its the same character designer for 91 Days. If not, then it would be a very striking similarity.

Never did see the original Garo, so this might change my mind. I did see a bit of Garo: Crimson Moon but dropped it at a later date.

Seems like it. When I was watching it I was thinking that Sword looked like a beefier version of Nero Vanetti.

Great premiere. MAPPA is usually great at having strong beginnings so let's hope they can keep this up for a full 24 episodes.

Nice. Gotten familiar with directors and voice actors, not there yet with designers/artists or animators (eventually!). I had the same reaction with Sword. When I saw him, I envisioned Nero on steroids.

The first one is much better than the second series. Definitely worth watching.

Got that Redline feel too.

This is definitely fun done right! MAPPA makes it look so easy.
Between Sword and Klaus (Kekkai Sensen), I'm expecting some exciting all-out rumbles.

Well that was entertaining, MAPPA kicks ass. So far best action show of the season, though some of those sequences were a little dizzying Like the character designs, and yeah they look familiar almost a Bungo Stray Dogs or Bebop look, what was that boob monster though? LOL

So this is a sequel? Never heard of it do I need to have watched the others?
