Also, nice to see mention of one of the racing pairs getting married during their pre-warmup meal. Sure it was intended as a joke but at least it wasn't blown out of the water at all.

Pretty sure that's the reason for her choosing her partner.

BTW, what's with those side tables? Is that sand? Coke?

Fire pits, maybe?

Two Car is really good. Too bad it's not getting much attention or good ratings. But if you're into motorsports it's damn good.

Also those tables look like zen tables to me.

I'll agree that Twocar is definitely starting to inch its way up my list of anime to watch. It hasn't quite made it into my "watch all the time" list, but it's getting closer.

As a follower of motorcycle racing, I find the premise interesting, to say the least. The fact that this episode had a Isle of Man poster (stylized) was quite different, reminding folks that this IS a real race involving real racers. For those who are interested, here's a place you can find photography of the drivers:

I have to admit this isn't the kind of anime I usually enjoy. I'm not much of a sports anime person and I'm not all that into motorsports but something is drawing me in. I think it's because I'm not at all familiar with sidecar racing so it's more the learning experience.

Wanted to add that I love that Ai is both the "hyper-genki" announcer and the tired "I just want to nap" character. The personality transformation when they go on air is too cute.

You might be surprised at how many sports announcers are exactly like Ai. Especially right before a show begins, then once that 'on air' light is off, all they want to do is find a bed and sleep. Considering the sheer amount of preparation before the show/race starts, it's not surprising to watch your favorite announcer say "I'm going to sleep" and that's exactly what they do. *chuckle*

I'm not sure riding without a helmet even when going slow is a good idea... I've been hit with my fair share of rocks even while cruising during a shakedown, let me say taking a 80 mph rock to the face wouldn't be the most jolly of feelings.

I had the same thought. Plus their hair is going to be super, super tangled. The first time I rode in a convertible I didn't put my hair up. In just a 15 minute trip it got so tangled I thought I was going to have to cut most of it off.

Of course, it's the same reason main characters don't wear helmets in battle. Still, I'd love it to be a plot point and have the poor girl's hair get caught in the axel. (OK, not really, they're a more interesting pair than the MCs.)

That scene with no helmet bothered me. No race steward would allow that nonsense. Plus helmet or not you can still smell the smoke and stuff since it's not sealed at the bottom....cause you know...you breathe though it

Out of all the characters, I like Misaki the most so far. She just seems so mature even though she can be a bit cold. It's understandable why Chiyuki acts the way she does as part of the pairing consdiering her past.

In regards to the series' mechanics, it seems episode 3 gives some details into sidecar racing on the road. Not bad.

Episode 3

The passenger's role is explained here, all while the importance of team chemistry is explained. Chiyuki and Misaki just have terrible teamwork as they became partners under dubious circumstances, all while those two are having a hard time connecting. Everything changed for the worse when Chiyuki crashed causing her partner to quit and her perfect life was shattered. But all it did was make Chiyuki go out and make friends as Misaki is her first true friend. And then sparks fly at the end making fireworks out of it. Well, those two sure did patch things up rather quickly when they realize that they are true friends.
